Can you prove the above? I don’t see my personal taxes going down no matter how much Apple pays in tax.
Sure. Basic maths should suffice to prove that if the top 1% pay more the remaining 99% (us) would have to pay less. Or have better services paying the same.

Again, are you cool with apple avoiding taxes, even though it’s legal?

Understood. You can’t substantiate this. The tax laws would have to be changed and that isn’t a guarantee.

Yes. If Apple can reduce its tax bill, I can also.

Obviously this will depend on your elected government, their budget, planned expenditures, etc.
I wouldn’t expect tax cuts across the board the following years given the huge deficit corona has made.

I agree and that's my point. How much Apple pays in taxes won't have a trickle down effect to the "middle class".

“At the G7 summit in London...”

Really? London? Lazy write up and ignorant of geography as well as current affairs. Try Cornwall, as far west as you can get from the capital. British equivalent of Amalfi or Hawaii, with serious eco/green credentials.
The finance ministers from the G7 met at Lancaster house in London. The heads of state are to meet in Carbis Bay from 11th-13th June for the actual G7 summit. So yes London, Really.

Your taxes will never go down but this could be a chance that your taxes don't go up drastically.

But if they didn’t have this new agreement and source of income, they might have to raise taxes to compensate for corona. So in that sense there is a “trickle down effect”. Although I don’t like that term as it refers to trickle down economics which is obviously complete BS to justify tax breaks for the rich.

This could happen anyway. (raising of taxes to those who could really use the money)

There is no real and valid substantiation, only internet substantiation. I avoid paying taxes as well. It's not immoral to pay as little as possible.
Whether it’s immoral or not, it clearly goes against the intent of governments around the world and is now hopefully going to be fixed with this minimum tax. I don’t think it was ever intended that Apple or other giant multinational corporations be able to setup shop in low tax countries to avoid paying what they would otherwise owe in other countries. It’s basically a giant loophole that is being closed. The only one who wins when countries play race to the bottom are wealthy executives and shareholders. Meanwhile the rest of us have to make up the difference to pay for essential infrastructure and other services. Infrastructure these giant companies greatly benefit from by shipping unimaginable numbers of items to make their profits.

This a good initiative in favor of democratic values. It’s interesting that no matter how much governements make it easier to formally establish a business, no matter how much border inconveniences are reduced to none, no matter how much taxes are reduced, no matter how much companies grow and profit, there is always some that do the most of their ability to contribute the least to the common good.

We call it tax optimization and social responsibility. We believe in democratic values … yet we do our best to undermine it like if if there were natural laws, ever existing. They aren’t.

All that has happened is that prices WILL be going up. If people think that APPLE(used as an example) is going to take a 15% tax increase and just live with it then think again! How about a 15% increase in their pricing for that shiny new iPhone is more like it. Or like whats happening in the grocery stores it's the same price but less product. Companies work for a profit and they'll always make money. Just the way it is, folks.
Ah yes because prices haven't been going up already when they were sheltering their billions in various low/no tax countries.

Of course, in the real world, if the top 1% paid more, the 99% wouldn’t get a reduction. They would just be paying the same whilst the govt pulls in more cash. Not saying that the top 1% shouldn’t be paying more just stating that it won’t make a difference to the 99%. Well, it probably will, they will pay off people and raise prices to cover the tax burden because of their greed. Jees this planet sucks

You believe that “we” are making up the difference in the US because Apple isn’t paying off shore taxes?
