I've always wondered what the average population thinks about the new PLUS. hopefully this will give me and others that answer :)

What I've posted in other threads is I really like smaller phones that can be used with one hand, so the 3.5" was perfect and the 4" was pretty good too. When it comes to the choice between the 6 and 6+ I'd prefer the 6+ as the 6 is still too big for one handed use so I feel that if you give that up you might as well get all the benefits of a large screen that you can with the 6+.

I voted for the 6 Plus, which I plan to get in October. I have huge hands, so one-handed use isn't really a problem to me. Didn't try pocketing it, not sure how that would turn out in a store. But I loved it. It was just such a good experience, and I think the extra functionality in landscape is very underrated. Can't wait to get one in October.

Just tell them what you're doing if you're that worried. Thats what I did because they were stood by the table. Though if no one was around I'd have still pocketed it to see. The devices are there to try, apple encourages you to do this. Enjoy playing.

I just wrote about this sort of thing here #13
There is more to it than just the size of the device.

The 6+ is neither awkward in my hand nor pocket.
6 is awkward as it now feels way too small.

The 6 feels to me how a phone in the modern age should feel. I think its standard size but I didn't always feel this way.
see my post here #13 explaining why I think there is more to it than just size of device #13

I personally love phablets, and I like Apple products. 6 Plus is pretty much my dream phone. I have big(ish) hands, and I spend a ton of time staring into my phone's screen - so bigger display would be in my favor. Long battery life doesn't hurt either. Pocket ability doesn't matter as much to me because I carry around a purse all the time as a woman.

I have my own reasons for favoring a certain phone, as everyone else has their own opinions. But it seems (to simplify) that the popular reasons for 6 Plus lovers give are the longer battery life & bigger display.

I don't think I can go back to using a smaller phone. 6 feels real small to me now. I've adjusted to 6 Plus, and I want to stay this way. When Apple releases another phablet (next one is speculated to be named 6S Plus, but I'm gonna wait for 7 Plus if named so in 2016) I'm definitely getting that when it is time for me to upgrade.

My option will be the 6S Plus this September. I always use two hands, even with the 5S I have, but I'm older, and marvel at those kids that use it one hand only....And fast as well.

It's all personal preference. There is no right answer.
He's taking a pole to see the "average" person's response. The answer to his question will be the average personal preference of the pollees. How valid the "answer" is... well that's based on interpretation.

Well I wasn't really thinking about it, I was too absorbed with the phone to be honest.

Average person ? On this forum ? 22 responses thus far out of millions sold and used. You've got to be kidding, right ? Get real

Hence the reason I used quotes around the two most divisive words. I was being quite real.

There really isn't an "average" for this. Some will like one (for various reasons) and others will like another one (for various reasons), and then some people will even change their minds over time (and sometimes more than once).

Also, even if a lot of people respond here (and that's not likely to begin with), the people on forums like this are certainly hardly the "average population".

There won't be a real average unless you can get a couple of million people to answer and the question / poll has to deal with the fact that Apple has no small flagship solution so consumers have no choice at all if they want Apple's best hardware.

If Apple crammed all of the 6S hardware into a 4" package it probably wouldn't have been a massive seller.

Yeah, I don't think they would've sold a ton of the 4" phones. And a true random sample doesn't need to be a couple million if the population of phone owners isn't that high. If there 100 million iPhone owners you'd probably be fine with less than 100k people. My stats is a bit rusty, but this poll wouldn't even be considered a viable means for such data acquisition.
