Didn’t you used to complain that Swipe To Unlock went away back in early ios 10 days? FaceID is essentially bringing back Swipe To Unlock. The process itself of unlocking will be virtually invisible (because generally the user is looking at their device as they unlock) and all the user has to do is Swipe To Unlock. As if they’re back in the no passcode/Swipe To Unlock says.

Nope I never needed Swipe to Unlock with TouchID because the phone enters the home screen automatically. I only used to have an issue when the FP sensor was too slow with my iPhone 6 when I used to resort to it. Not an issue with the 7 though so swiping the lock screen every time is going to be irritating. There has to be a setting like Samsung’s Iris scanner which automatically unlocks directly to the home screen when I bring it in front of my face.

Biggest issue for me is a lack of 128GB model. 64 is too small and 256 is way too large for me. At present, I’m forced to pay a premium for the 256 version.

I agree, most will. Still took about a year for every app to look right on 6 Plus back in the day, hopefully app developers are more responsive this time.

I remember when the 5 came out, loads of apps had massive borders for ages and they looked awful! Took forever for most of them to be updated too!

I see two big flaws already plus the obvious other thing.....

You can't have battery percentage listed in the status bar. No, the battery icon is not a sufficient replacement. Nor is needing to use a battery widget or control center. Hopefully in the future there will be option for battery percentage or the icon. I don't need both as it is.

I also think swiping down from the right corner is a poor placement for control center. It will be inconvenient.

Lastly the price. I think it's absurd at $1000 to start. Should be no more than $850. I'm sorta justifying my X purchase by knowing I'll be leasing it for one year at $500 and then upgrading.

True, but at least with the 256, it is a space you can grow with over a few years...perhaps that is what Apple is expecting a two or longer year upgrade cycle.

I got so frustrated thinking about the size difference between X and 7 Plus, I downloaded the X Code simulator on my Mac but there is no clear answer. While web browsing the X shows significantly more content

But in apps its a different story because those giant bars at the top and bottom occupy so much space that the 7 Plus shows more content than the X

I really don't know what to do at this point

Your example of in apps shows the same. The X has two lines extra at the top while the Plus has two lines extra at the bottom. Align them better and it will be pretty much identical.

This is the biggest issue, until apps get updated for it, they are going to look awful.

This is already a problem because of AutoLayout. There are thousands of apps than look crappy on the Plus because the software developers use AutoLayout rather than utilizing the Plus's increase in screen real estate.

It would be nice if Apple gave us a setting to turn off the Home Bar (or whatever it's called).

I noticed my mistake but when I align them perfectly the Plus still shows more content in portrait because the navigation bar and gesture area on the bottom isn’t available to apps. But when doing web browsing that area becomes available and I can see more content on the X.

But after playing with the simulator for half an hour I get the feeling that even if the X shows more content, it will be smaller while the Plus screen will show slightly lesser content but it will be expansive and bigger. I don’t think Plus owners will like the small font.

Apple shouldn’t have made things so diffficultfor Plus owners.

iPhone X. Now there's an iPhone especially designed to enhance web browsing. (except in landscape. don't use landscape mode. NO. YOU ARE HOLDING IT THE WRONG WAY".

i wish the black model had the white model's stainless steel..

otherwise, i'm liking the new design & features..
could be cheaper but oh well.

My biggest issue is the wait. The anticipation is killing me. The fear of not getting my order in fast enough is also leaving me sleepless. I'll be honest. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.

Glad I got that off my chest. Thanks for listening.

Never mind those on a plan.
Next cycle unless Apple is migrating to a late Oct release, will see new phones roll out in Sept and have to wait another two months to get a new device.
Oh joy and welcome to hurry up an wait. ;)

It’s called business and smart business at that!

The price and delayed release. The notch is also not ideal.

The price I understand, but the fact that Apple is releasing the iPhone X come November 3, they never confirmed that the iPhone was delayed. Even though there are rumors stating this, that was never made clear by them or confirmed based on any definitive answers. It's speculated as to why though.

They didn’t say much about the airpods last year when they were delayed until the last minute but I think the iPhone is a bigger release and it has a specific date unlike the airpods which were just said to be available at the end of October. I think if there are any delays Apple will let us know in good time.

I think the poster might mean delayed as in it wasn’t available for pre-order and release as the 8/8+

I Understand how the AirPods launched much later than expected, but we're talking about a release of the iPhone X in a matter of weeks for the pre-order and shipping the following week. So I doubt any type of delays would come about based off what a rumor states. Not to mention, being the iPhone is the largest annual release for Apple of the year, I would expect some press release if there were to be a delay.
