That amount happened to be $150M along with Apple being forced to install that Shish storm Internet Explorer on Mac as part of the settlement. And the only reason Apple allowed I.E on Mac was because the Mac had no dedicated browser and I.E was popular at the time. And if you think $150M helped Apple become what it is today then you need to take a course in Business 101. If money is all it takes to "bail" a company out then Microsoft would have more successful products after all the cash they've wasted on the Surface line. 🙄

I think you need a course in history 101...Apple was on the very brink. The anti-trust settlement was 4 years after Gates bailed Apple out. $150m absolutely saved Apple and thus allowed Apple to become what it is now. By the way in case you hadn’t noticed Microsoft has swapped places several times with Apple as the most valuable company over the last couple of years...I think they’re pretty successful.

An Android phone can be used without a Google account on it, try using an iPhone without an AppleID... oh, you can't even get into the bloody phone without it!

False. You can, in fact, "get into" and use any iOS device without an Apple ID.
