games costing alot more means games can't be as niche anymore...

i really don't think Bioshock 2 or SS 3 will be any different

on the same note, have alook at the shitness Deus Ex 2 became, and DE3 will be... consoles have taken over the decision making of complex FPS RPGs...

I agree.

I can only imagine that if the 360 or PS3 had exploded like the Wii, PC gaming would probably be in worse shape.

Deux, I stll have my CD. :) I'll be honest, I didn't play D2 and it was because of other's feedback. D3 is on my budget maybe list.

Blah, I preferred the days when there was a clear division between PC games and console games.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT!

System Shock was "not" repetitive, it really was not a FPS, and it was SCARY!

I haven't played Silent Hill, but I've heard that it's rather scary. OK, imagine if the latest SH game was turned into a complete action FPS and was no longer scary, BUT FUN. Would you still like it?

Point taken:) ....I get what your saying but like you said the developers are now catering to the "casuals" so every game gets dumb down...even the new SH game got more action-y(which I hate I must admit)

Bless

That sucks. I'm getting tired of this, but hopefully poor sales and feedback will snap developers out of this current casual trend and only apply it to the games that call for it, not any game.

After I watched a XPlay about scary games and they put Silent Hill 2 at the top, I'v been really intrigued to play it and now I see it's available for Windows and it's not even $20. :)
