Only thing I'm going to do once the JB is released is see if I can change that icon. I saw a screenshot where someone had a "stock" messages icon, but it was pink with a bite taken out of it. I liked it. :)

I think he meant something more like This

So I tried it out for a bit and I really like it, but it crashes sometimes in my app switcher .. meaning I have to go open it again from the home menu and sometimes it takes like two seconds to load, compared to the stock messages app which is instantaneous.. I might just wait for tweaks to add on to this app that are perfectly compatible with iOS 5, then..

Edit: screw it ill give it a few more days :p i love the quick reply too much xD

Hmm that's odd never had that problem! Make sure you are up to date on all Cydia items and then restart your phone.

BiteSMS added the feature in the newest release. Just go to the settings and you can change the icon. You can also now hide the stock message icon through BiteSMS.

Wait you can only change the icon to switch to the stock "green" sms icon right? If you want to add say the "pink" sms icon, do you need winterboard for that?

how do you replace this in winterboard? i added a folder called com.bitesms and placed the icon named Icon@2x.png in there and it doesn't when i activate it in winterboard. All of my other icons don't have this problem.... like mail, safari, etc... i was wondering since i couldn't view the bundle ID site if this is still indeed the proper location?

Check the caps, I think it may be "icon@2x.png"

+1

Yeah, ended up figuring this out shortly after. I downloaded the genesis theme and saw the difference was in fact the 'i' was supposed to be lower case.

Thanks, appreciate it.

Is it just me, or is biteSMS unbearably slow on ios 5? I have an iPhone 4, and it takes forever to select a text, etc. There's constant lag. I'm really regretting spending $10 on it.

Works great here on both my iphone 4 and iphone 4S.
Maybe something else you have installed is conflicting.
Also update to the latest 6.2 beta3 to see if that helps.

It's really slow on my 4 as well. Almost unusable. Also, if I set it to go to the active thread, it crashes.
