Funny thing is after living in Europe for so long the way they prepare coffee there (and most other similar types of restaurants in North America) is not really the way I like it anymore, though my parents love it. I take your word for it the store blend is very good, especially given the care you certainly (as a member of the espresso thread) take with coffee. Ditto with the food, it seems to have gone done somewhat-though I do like the bagels there.

I do share your apprehension to the future of Tim's.

You're right, I do give a lot of care to my coffee, and its amazing that I tend to like a chain restaurant's coffee, for drip and press, more than any specialty coffee I've tried thus far.

I think it is in the US - maybe just up North? I was just in NY and I'm positive I saw one there. I'm pretty sure they are also in Michigan as well

Haven't seen any TH stores on Long Island but several Gulf gas stations have converted their shops to TH. Coffee isn't bad.

Toronto just got a few Chipotle locations and we're very grateful, so we wouldn't mind sharing our Tim's a bit further south :D

Haven't tried Chipotle, but Burrito Boyz is where it's at! On my TDL though.

I'm actually surprised we still have BK existing here in Canada. I hardly know anyone that goes to BK (that doesn't mean people don't). They do have quite decent value meals ($1.99 Whoppers, I think), regardless, if they can keep the expansion on Tim Hortons then they're quite set. Tim's is also expanding to middle east in places like Dubai, so BK would have their presence there as well. Plus they (BK) already have international locations so perhaps it can help Tim's expansion. Have to look at both sides of the coin, I guess.

They'll have a hard time here - this area is Dunkin Donut territory. Krispy kreme tried to come into N.E. and failed.

Even in PA, not many Krispy Kreme's. KK > DD any day. When I took my road trip down to Florida, saw places selling them everywhere through I-95. Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina.... No love for New England :(
