Apple has officially unveiled their U.S. Black Friday sales for their online and retail stores. The discounts are in line with past year events, around 8% depending on the product.

- iMac ($101 Discount across all models)
- MacBook Pro ($101 Discount across all models)
- MacBook Air ($101 Discount on 13" Models%)
- iPod Nano ($11 Discount on 8GB, $21 Discount on 16GB)
- iPad ($41 Discount across all models)

The discounts are available on Apple's online store and retail stores on Friday. Meanwhile, 3rd party retailers are offering larger discounts, and depending on your geographical location, you may not have to pay sales tax on the purchase.

Big Apple and Mac Discounts: MacBook Pros, iPod Touches and More...

This year, MacConnection appears to have the most substantial discounts for the majority of Macs by combining instant and mail-in rebate discounts. In particular, MacBook Pros are seeing as high as $240 (13%) discounts. However, MacMall and Amazon discounts are applied instantly so no mail-in rebate is required.

Prices for MacMall, MacConnection and Amazon have been included, with the best price in bold.

Note: Amazon's prices are in flux throughout the day, so they may change.

I wonder if there will be any addional discount on refurbished items? Probably wishful thinking but it would be nice!!

Amazon has no Tax

At least in California, the best place to buy is Amazon. You save on tax and that is an additional 100-150 depending on what you are buying.

Does the EPP store get the discounts too?

Always good to get a discount but in many parts of the US you can pretty much get these deals almost everyday on the items above $1000. by buying through Amazon. Not only to you get free shipping, many items have a minimal discount also, BUT you save the sales tax. So if you live in a state like California that's over 9% right off the top. Doesn't help everyone but it's good for some of us.

Been holding off getting an Apple TV hoping for Black Friday discount.

This is really a poor showing in comparison to years gone by.

Checking Amazon again tomorrow. Was able to pick up a MacBook last year for $750. I still think it's a shame that Apple, especially in these times, can't do something better for at least one day.

MacMall is evil, they'll send you the wrong iMac and then claim it was the right one, and demand a restocking fee for an exchange.

Yes, I am still bitter about that 350mhz iMac purchase.

https://www.macrumors.com/2010/11/25/black-friday-2010-major-discounts-on-apple-and-mac-products/Only the low-end models are discounted [at the Apple Store], but it does include the entry level iPad

How do we know that only the low-end models are discounted? It says "Tomorrow, you can save on these Apple products and many other accessories," and then gives prices for various products phrased like: "iMac ... from $1098." So, yes, the low-end model is definitely discounted, but I see no evidence that higher-end models aren't. (This is the same way they say normal product announcements. E.g., "iMac starts at $x," where x is the cost of the low-end model.

Am I missing something? Otherwise, I don't think it's necessarily true that only the low-end models are discounted.

EDIT: Apparently, I am correct; arn has responded, and the original article has silently removed all mention of this statement, thus making me look like a fool. :)

I believe it does. If you are a student, then you can also apply your student discount. That is of course of your arent rallying around the UK streets smashing up the place causing millions of pounds worth of damage then in the next breath banging on about how its your right to get to university for free.

Even though you get your student loan and piss it up against the wall within the first month of being away from mummies t*t.

Oops sorry of on a tangent there. The answer is yes the discount should still apply for us government workers etc. Looking at the MBA meself. mmmmmm

Only the low-end models are discounted

Each item on the page says "From $xxx." So that means the higher configurations probably are discounted as well.

Or do you mean that the Mac Pro isn't represented? 'Cause there's also no Mac mini, iPhone, iPod Shuffle or iPod Classic, and those aren't the tops of their lines...

7, 8, 9%? That is rather poor.

I think it's great.

When a company offers me a 20%+ discount, they are saying that any other time of the year, they are willing to rip me off by 20%.

7-9% is more likely to mean they're squeezing their margins.

I never take part in Black Friday ever because I still have to pay 8.75% sales tax. For instance, GuitarCenter sent me 10% off coupons for the weekend...wow 10%? You covered my sales tax and gave me 1.25% off. What a steal?

No, it just means they'd rather keep the extra 13-11%.

Hopefully the UK Apple TV will be discounted, as it's all I'm interested in. (Maybe an iTouch for my sister)

I do want to pick up MS Office '11 though, '08 is started to get to me.

The US store says you can get an iPhone 4 from £199, is that if you sign up for a contract with the carrier, or the handset price?

Just asking because I'm from the UK, thought it seems cheap.
