sorry but 10% off for one of the biggest sales of the year? does apple even know how to have a sale?

i constantly see bestbuy selling things for below cost on other computer related items, wtf is up with this? even if they went to 50% off, they would still be making money, im sure 25% wouldn't hurt.

good luck finding any hot selling items on sale

i was hoping to get a X-Box kinect bundle on sale, but no deal. and no sales on kinect games either. most online places are out of stock and i have to brave best buy tomorrow

So I just picked up an iPad yesterday for $499 and the case for $39 and together they'll both be $75 cheaper tomorrow. Think I can simply bring in my receipt and have them do a price adjustment or will I need to actually return the item and get dinged with a 10% restock fee?

you bought an ipad 2 days before BF? wow

the rule is you never buy anything a few days before BF

I'm shopping for a 27" 2.93GHz i7 Quad Core but MacMall, Connection, and Amazon only have the i5's. Is the sale on Apple tomorrow going to be my best bet for one?

Yeah I know... I honestly didn't expect Apple to have a sale on it since it's been selling so well as is. Plus they only had a few left so I bought it before they went out of stock. Even if I get hit with the restock fee (which I shouldn't since I'd basically still keep my used one), I'd still save $25 or so. I just want to know if I'll have to bring it all back in...

You are AWESOME! I couldn't find anything on the website. I swear my searching skills are horrible. Thank you sooooo much for finding this!

so is the cheapest place to get an ipad simply apple, or a normal place where you can get it for like $10 off w no tax online?

Mac mini is $599 ($100 off) on Amazon if anyone is interested.

Amazon Mac Mini

At least in California, the best place to buy is Amazon. You save on tax and that is an additional 100-150 depending on what you are buying.

Macconnection is also no tax free shipping... Mostly they are lower than amazon...

The purpose of a sale is to drive customers to make a purchase, and if it accomplishes that task, then it was a good sale. We all know that many people will be making their apple purchases tomorrow, so while we all may grumble, "they should give me a bigger discount because I feel entitled to it", from Apple's side they are doing it right.

And are you really surprised that Amazon and other retailers are selling cheaper than Apple's main store? That is the way it is supposed to be. You generally don't want to undercut your own resellers. You sell it wholesale and you let them duke it out amongst themselves.

Based on Apple Australia and New Zealand, which have already come out, the discount on the MB Air is only on the 13 inch version, not the 11 inch model.

Also the edu discount cannot be stacked with the bf discounts.

MacConnection does charge sales tax. Is there anywhere to get Macs at a reasonable price without sales tax (NY)?

The savings in the UK are awful.

£81 off a £1809 iMac i7? Are you kidding???

And to think I missed a refurb offer in the hope that the Black Friday would be better!

Serves you right. It has always been this poor and only ever a token discount on a few items. Bestbuy.co.uk was giving 15% cashback the other week on all items delivered (10% now). You should have bitten then.

You must be rich to think that £81 in your pocket is an awful thing!

Its about 25 after midnight here and apple has not updated their prices, I guess that is done more in the morning.

Be careful with the Microsoft Black Friday deals. I got burned a couple years ago - the Mac team's blog said one thing about what to submit (since the academic version didn't actually come with what was required - a box top or something else, I don't remember); but the third-party company that was in charge of issuing the rebates denied it. Then I got caught in a back-and-forth between talking to MS and talking to the rebate handler, and in the end gave up.

It's not limited to MS, but the cynic in me believes this sort of thing is by design. The companies offer these rebates knowing full well that if they make it difficult to redeem them, a significant portion of their customer base will decide it's not worth their time to pursue after a certain point.

If you're eligible for the academic version, a lot of times you can get a better deal than the special through your campus retailer.

Apple's on the west coast, and generally goes by its local time rather than your local time. However the store may very well not get updated until morning.

black friday sales might not count
they mean if the price is permanently reduced
