I'm not totally sure being stuck on AT&T is worth the $1000 savings, though it's a bit close. With the Walmart deal you can be on Verizon and get $600 in Walmart gift cards.
[doublepost=1511498985][/doublepost]Also, $250 is an AMAZING price for an iPad - I thought the $309 education store offer was low when I got my two, but $250 is even more amazing.

There's still the prepay for four months of DirecTV NOW and get an Apple TV 4K deal going on. $140 for an ATV 4K and 4 months of DirecTV NOW (which I'd say is middle of the road and not bad as far as streaming TV goes).
I have DirecTV so I get access to a lot of my DTV content. But good to know.

All these deals are overshadowed by the Apple gift card deals. When will these other retailer learn?
Agreed. Just bought myself a 21.5" Retina 4k, 3.0GHz with 256 SSD for $1500. $150 gift card + Discover IT %5 cash back saved me $200. No need to go crazy looking elsewhere for a better deal because there won't be.

I wasn't aware that Apple pulled a "naming schism" with their iPad line as well (iPhone being skipping the iPhone 7s, and also introducing the "10" as "X"). Up until now, I kept thinking the 5th gen Ipad as the Ipad Air (1).

Nothing even mildly tempting there. Apple stopped producing decent Macs in 2015.

Back then there was no USB-C nonsense and no need to purchase a docking station.

Back then we had the superb (pre USB-C) 27" 5k iMac.

Back then we had the superb (pre Touch Bar, pre USB-C) 15" Retina MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Air could have done with a Retina Display instead they released an inflexible machine and slapped the name MacBook on it.

We have not had a Decent Mac Mini since 2012.

The current Mac Lineup is nothing but fashion accessories.
You relate having to use one dongle to making the whole computer bad? Wow
Nothing wrong with usb c it’s better and lots of things use usb-c and will continue.

no its not. plastic screen ipad should never have been made. its trash
Have you used the 2017 model? It’s has an A9 chip, same housing as the iPad Air 1, so the screen is laminated but for the price! You can not beat it!

USB-C is a con in the way Apple market it. With no more choice than USB-C the user has No Choice than to go out and make an Additional Purchase of a Docking station so they can use their Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 Peripherals.
Lets not forget the vast majority of Peripherals are USB 3.0 and it will take years for USB-C to catch up. Like I said its a con.
There was a time on the older iMacs there was choice of Firewire 400, Firewire 800, Mini Display Port and USB 2.0 but of course that was when it was Steve Jobs Apple.

its really not a big deal for most and a small compromise. For the speed you get out of this, just hard drive speed alone is much better than previous machines.
I bought I hyperdrive and got on with my life. Most can get away with a few 3$ adapters. It really is not a big deal.
Another big thing for me is charging out of any port as the previous left side charging cable over time ate up my cable(since it has to wrap around to my outlet on the right side of my setup. Also, replacing just the usb cable is much cheaper than replacing the magnetic ones on previous machines.

does anyone know if Black Friday deals are better than Cyber Monday's? i want to buy a Mac but need a couple extra days.
