Bought my second Apple HomePod and I can now play music throughout my house. The deal saves some money and much better than paying full price.
I totally understand the issue with compatibility. I keep looking to switch to a HomePod because of that. It would be easier.
I just would need the price to come down and Apple to open up their Apple Music service to other players. I currently listen to Amazon Unlimited from my Roku Ultra and high-end soundbar and sub using Amazon’s channel app on the Roku. If Apple were to have the same access through an Apple channel, I’d switch to a HomePod today.
I'm glad you're still happy with the product you purchased. The Sonos One is still an overall better buy at $199.
Last I checked this was a forum though.
Uh, okay. Is this better?
I think what this forum needs is more people saying they think these are overpriced and that they won’t buy them. Three pages of that isn’t nearly enough.
Still $100 too expensive.
I would not say that price should be $30, but I believe that it might be little overpriced. What gets me is no Bluetooth support. Apple offers Apple Music on Android, so you would think people who have Android with Apple Music should be able to play their content on the speaker.
Nah. It's still at least $200 too expensive.
This thing might be worth it at $49.99. $19.99 would probably be closer to realistic.
$250 is almost as stupid as $350.
What's an Amazon Echo going for today? Let's check. $69.00. And it does more than Apple's speaker.
But even if you want to compare it to the new shiny fancy Amazon speaker, there's the Echo Plus, at $109.99. I mean, Apple's is the old haggard last year's model, so it's hardly a fair comparison, but there it is.
$250? Why would anybody buy this?
I don't see why anybody would buy the Amazon one either, a "smart speaker" isn't. But whatever. Apple's is not just overpriced, it's so absurdly overpriced that even $100 off is laughably expensive.
No wonder they've never reported sales on these. It's probably selling about as well as the iPod Hi-Fi.

Oh, it doesn't even do Bluetooth? Yeah, I take back that $19.99.
Make that $9.99.
Hahahahahahahaha haha yes it is...

Yes, I believe they are just trolling.I’m not sure if you’re trying to troll this forum or not but I have to correct some misinformation. The HomePod has Bluetooth 5.0 built in which would allow you to stream whatever audio service you desire to it. Also, your comparing apples to oranges. The $69 dollar Echo isn’t even in the same class as the HomePod or even the Echo Plus. You’d have to add on the $130 Echo Sub to come close or get the Google Home Max which also costs $349. These are the HomePod’s direct competition.
Also, if you’re curious, the reason the Home Pod is priced much higher is due to some advanced audio engineering. Apples goal with the HomePod was to deliver the highest fidelity audio quality possible in the smallest form factor possible. Some might argue it delivers sound quality rivaling audio systems that cost thousands of dollars. With Amazon and Google’s Echo and Home products they’re goal is to build a smart speaker cheap enough to make it attractive to as many people as possible since the core of thier businesses is to collect as much data about its customers as possible.
Sorry to be technical but it doesn’t have Bluetooth. It has AirPlay 2.0 which allows you to airplay any audio from an iOS or Mac. However you can’t stream audio via Bluetooth from a non Apple device. However I agree with everything you’ve said in this post.I’m not sure if you’re trying to troll this forum or not but I have to correct some misinformation. I do but it’s fundamentally broken.anyone use two of these in stereo as a soundbar replacement for your tv/appleTV?

It does but you can’t use it for streaming. It’s airplay only from Apple devices.According to Apples tech specs it does. Have I missed something?
Mine is much more reliable than this. It generally stays connected. It only disconnects if I take a call on there and then I only have to reconnect it via the control centre on my phone or iPad.I do but it’s fundamentally broken.
They disconnect at random times from the Apple TV and you have to resync them by holding play, and selecting the stereo pair again.
