Can I buy $1200 worth of gift cards from Target effectively getting 20% off the purchase of a Mac?
How does that get you 20 percent off a Mac when Target doesn't sell Macs? It gets you 5 percent off a Mac from Apple if you have a Target Red Card and buy the gift cards with your Red Card. The 20 dollar gift cards they give you in return are Target Gift Cards, not Apple.

Let’s hope Christmas is more to our liking....
It won't be. Now that Apple allows you to use gift cards to buy hardware, they'll never discount their gift cards like in the past. The best you'll get are these store gift cards.

Does not look like it. Article said that Air will have discounts. Checked Slick Deals and scan for Best Buy and discount will be for prior generation.

New iPad Air was already discounted in other sales, so its likely it will get another break.

I know. I can use the Target gift cards to shop for what I normally do at Target, basics like hand sanitizer, paper towels, etc.

How many of those Target/Bestbuy gift cards can one person buy?
I checked for Target and it looks like there is a limit of $500. I don't normally shop at Best Buy, so I wouldn't bother combining them.

If your Amex has an annual fee than it still has it. Only their cards without the fee lost it.
I don't think I have ever in my life carried a card with an annual fee. I hope never to. The banks make enough off my money as it is.

Apple Watch Series 6 prices have pretty much cratered just 60 days after launch. I'd expect to see starting pricing of 40MM sub $325 and 44MM sub $350 for BF or CM.

You can't crowd into the stores even if you wanted to
Then you haven’t been to a Target or Walmart lately. Yes they have limits. But I have cousins that work in Target, and guess what the limits they set are? 500 people. They wouldn’t even reach those numbers on a normal day.

Simply Mac, a nation-wide chain of AASPs and retailers, has m1 MacBook Pros for 1150, 150 off the regular price. This is available now, and online as well as our 50 stores across the US.

We offer financing through Affirm, AppleCare+ and our own SimpleCare+, which is a no-deductable warranty option.

It's mini's all the way down for me.

Software I am watching for:
DEVONthink
Simplemind
Infuse
Scrivner
And I need a to-do app that works across Mac/Win/iOS/iPad. I have been using the MS To-Do, which is free and fine, but it's not that flexible when I have multi part tasks with different due dates.
OmniFocus is native to macOS and iOS/iPadOS, but you can access it through the web on Windows.

OK... Their website is terrible. So individual pricing is $99 a year plus $10 a month? And what is the difference between standard and pro?

Edit: after 10 minutes of googling the question I have no idea what the price actually is or what the features are.

It really sucks there is no straight up discount on the Apple gift cards but this is honestly better than I thought we would see. I though the unified gift card would be the death of any deals. A Best Buy gift card is less useful unless you need something there but the Target gift card is pretty useful. Everyone always needs toilet paper and laundry detergent.

Agreed, and if you’re near a SuperTarget, one grocery buying trip and you’re done.
