Did Apple ever put some dicsount on their own apps on black friday? I am in the market for Logic Pro X but there is probably no chance that it will be on discount.

I have been trying to download Pixelmator since about 11:30 AM EDT until 7:00 PM EDT at least once an hour and continue to get the error: "This item is being modified. Please try again later." every time. Most people above suggested it would likely go away after a couple hours, but this is getting a bit much. I'm not so worried about the deal, but this post reminded me I wanted this app anyway. This is a bit frustrating when you just want to legally buy an app, but with no apparent reason, you cannot.

Anyone on how does Pixelmator compare with Photoshop on OSX? Debating on whether or not to go Adobe CC or trying the smaller developers like Pixelmator and Infinity.
The problem with Pixelmator is that it doesn't support CMYK color mode. If you're a print designer, this is a deal buster. But if you're only working on web and multi-media, it's fantastic. That being said, I like Infinity Photo better - and they offer Infinity Designer (Adobe Illustrator competitor), and are working on an Adobe InDesign competitor now.

Yeah I'm still getting the same error. Really annoying.

is anyone else receiving an error when trying to purchase Pixelmator on iOS? App Store says "This item is currently being modified, please try again later". I want to catch the sale price and I've never had a problem purchasing apps before.

Yup same here. I've seen that before. Just try again in a few hours and see if it works then. If not, oh well. I'm buying it because it's on sale to play with. I haven't needed it as of yet so if I miss the sale then I just won't end up using it...

That error should go away in a few hours. It happens to me usually when it hasn't taken long since the price change took effect.

Yeah I'm still getting the same error. Really annoying.

I'm still getting the error and its 8:55 am eastern time. By the time it starts working again the sale will be over smh.

For Pixelmator, it looks like the sale is extended until next Wednesday according to them.

"Some of you are getting the ‘being modified’ prompt and, although trying again works sometimes, we’ll extend the sale until next Wednesday." — Pixelmator

Looks like this has been fixed. I was finally able to download Pixelmator for my iPad.

This is in regards to not being able to purchase Pixelmator. Contacted Apple about this and this is the reply that I received:

I understand that when you try to purchase “Pixelmator", you receive a message indicating that it is being modified. I know how eager you are to purchase this App. Rest assured that I’ll look into this and provide you the necessary information to address the issue.

From time to time, the iTunes Store and our content providers updates the items in the catalog to ensure the highest possible quality for our customers. This error message indicates that “Pixelmator" is likely being updated and is temporarily unavailable. Please try your purchase again in 72 hours.

As applications and in-apps are created and distributed by third party developers, I would also recommended to contact them directly about this. They’ll be able to thoroughly check this for you. Here’s the link to their support site:
