The "Black Friday" sales period is approaching, and so it might be helpful if people post deals they find for Mac Pro upgrades so everyone can benefit. Black Friday may be a U.S.-centric thing, but many U.S. vendors do ship to other countries.

Upgrades could include PCI NVMe cards, SSD drives, RAM, USB-3 cards, video cards, 4K displays -- models that all are known to work with Mac Pros.

I'll add to this list as I find things. This is a wiki, so please feel free to add to it, too!

For reference:
-----

NVMe drive deals:
  • HP EX900 M.2 500GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe: $75 w/free shipping (eBay)
  • HP EX920 NVMe M.2 1TB SSD: $145.35+tax using coupon code PICKFAST (NewEgg eBay) Nov 21 only!
  • Samsung 970 EVO 1TB NVMe: $228 (Amazon)

Not Mac Pro related, but VMWare has a sale today. Fusion and VM Worskstation with 40 to 45% discount with BF2018 code. I was waiting this to buy Fusion 11 Pro.

Hmm, I'd like to buy that as well, but that code doesn't seem to be working for me. It doesn't give an error message when I try to apply the code, but the price isn't reduced.

Any idea if Fusion 11 is faster than Fusion 10? Once I upgraded my iMac to Mojave, my guest macOS VM has slowed way down, especially when starting up (this is with Fusion 10). It also sometimes spontaneously terminates.

It's only for Fusion Pro or Workstation Pro. I'm still using 10.13.6/Fusion 8.5 Pro - so I can't tell about the slow down.

Worked for me, Fusion 11 Pro full license, Digital River already sent my key.

BTW, I don't remember a worst purchase experience in the last ten years. I had to change my registered VMWare account to the same as my Paypal, then I had to log-off, remove cookies, confirm the email, answer questionaries, etc etc… One time I had three browsers opened trying to get this done, lost two hours with this today.

Seems that VMWare don't need to sell licenses to users, just to corporations.

I'm not having any terminations using 11 on Mojave, but I updated to 11 at the same time I went to Mojave so I don't know what 10 did with Mojave.

Fusion 11 doesn't seem any faster than 10 to me, and if anything seems slower starting up from suspend on Win 10. Not slower on Win XP however (which I still need for some engineering design software). I'm currently using 11 trial and hoping VMWare will have a discount on Fusion (non-Pro) this week.

I've been hunting for 4k monitor deals this past week but have not had much luck. Looking for something IPS or VA with good colors and viewing angles for under $450.

Have my eye out for a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB...

Costco has this:
$399.99
LG 43UD79-B 43" Class Ultra HD 4K IPS Monitor. LG normally has nice monitors, but I haven't tried this one.

Thanks!!!!!

Just upgraded from 14.1.3 to 15.0.1 for $89.99 instead of $149.99 ! No issues with the transaction (MasterCard).
I had funds into my PayPal account, so I had to do all that song and dance.
[doublepost=1542681319][/doublepost]eBay has the 10% eBay bucks until 11/20.

I ordered a Sapphire Nitro+ 580. Should I exchange it for this one or will it work?
Nitro+ is a bad fit for a Mac Pro, maximum possible power usage is 237W, Mac Pro can supply 225W, and blocks slot-2.

Nitro+ is a 2.3 slots card.
