i worked my 10 hour shift. Our store in the mall was packed at 8am (which is very unusual) then by noon time till closing the crowds were much more scarce. Not looking too good on the retail front.

Americans make me laugh.

And people are shocked when people get hurt on this day
Umm why do "Americans" make you laugh? Not everyone participates in the whole BF hype but how do people actually doing that make you laugh? And aren't you in America or does "Redmond WA" mean something else these days?

I'm using it right now. So for its fantastic. The colors are solid, the brightness is pretty good.. The sharpness of the picture is not quite is good as the iMacs built-in display, but once plugged in, Leopard auto-recognizes it and gave the H22W its own icc color profile. Don't know if this is something Apple just had built-in or if it was able to generate automatically, but it smacks of a somewhat opitimized experience out of the box. That said, the color on the iMac built-in display is slightly differentiated from the Envision by hue, but I plan to calibrate that difference out of the equation at some point.

I found these specs (ignore the gushing sales copy). I'm new to Envision in general, so I'm hoping this is a good experience I won't regret.

I found that the display controls in MacOS X automatically support the "rotation" ability. I had to stop messing with it. If I was in publishing, or currently working on a portrait aspect digital painting, I'd be ecstatic... as it is, the feature only leaves me slightly anxious for when that day comes.

Connecting the monitor to its base feels CHEAP. Once it snaps in though, it all feels/looks pretty good. I'd post some shots but my desk is still a mess after lugging that Sony "air conditioner heavy" CRT off of it. :D

In short, this passes my tests. Many of the LCDs I've been seeing in the stores have been worrying me with how fuzzy they look. This looks great. I'm very happy with it. I did notice that the refresh rate appears to be locked at 60 Hertz. Seems fine, but I've started getting used to faster rates.

Doing a quick Google product search, I have every impression that I could "flip" this monitor on eBay for a decent profit if I weren't completely happy with it myself.

Yeah, it comes with a power cable and a VGA cable. For my iMac, I'd already gotten the Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter when I'd connected my Sony to my iMac, so it plugged right in and it cranked into gear.

CNN had a web poll.. Only 17% said they were going shopping on BF.

And I'm starting to get sick of all the "American" bashing...It's the start of a decline for this country and I think it's absoultely BS. What is worse is when Americans themselves bash their own country. Go see what it's like to live in 75% of the world and then see if you bash the US.

I worked my 13 hour double shift on Friday and am working sat. evening. Don't have a car to drive anywhere.

anyone else notice on the Circuit City website that they are selling iPods, specifically the old 4GB Mini for $99.

Hmmm,

From the apple store, AEBS, iPhone bluetooth adapter, and Jawbone (one or both of these are going back, depending on which fits the wife's ear better—I know, I could have gotten the jawbone cheaper online).

From Guitar Center, Mackie SRM150 WAY discounted at $240 (paid for itself at a gig that very night!), new mic stand.

From MicroCenter, a 120GB IDE internal notebook drive for my Powerbook (trying one more time to put one in that doesn't click—no luck).

From Amazon, a Sony Digital Camera (DSC W80), memory stick duo, iWork family pack, and the complete Mozart Piano Sonatas and Fantasies (Dover Editions).

I don't want to add it all up, but I will say that everything I bought was on my list for a long time, and yesterday did present the best deals I could get. That, and some of the stuff is either going back (bluetooth earpieces) or replacing something else that is getting returned (the notebook HD).

The only "door-busting" deal I saw advertised was from Target—a 37" LCD for $550. Good as that looks, I knew I'd have to be first in line to get it, and really am not sure I want a cheap-brand LCD. Some of the 22" monitors were on sale (as others have mentioned) but with all the other money I was spending, I didn't want to pile on with something I didn't have to have.

Thanks for reading. I'm sure no one cares.

I love Black Friday. I scored:
42" Plasma Panasonic TV for $900
3 Bluetooth headsets, $10/piece for family members
New phone system for my father for $89 (home phone--he won't use a cell phone)
Rock Band
Office 2004 for $50
iPod nano for a gift

...and a few other small items. I didn't get that $229 laptop at best buy, because I went at 10PM Thursday and there was already 100+ people, and I wasn't about to wait that long.

I'm watching Amazon Customers Vote for that $719 46" Samsung 1080P TV, hoping I get picked!

I bought the microsoft office for mac deal that comes out to 37 dollars (after rebate) and I got 24 season 5 for $14.95!! Both on amazon. Oh and a 2 gig flash drive for 15 bucks at Circuit City.

My store did 40% over their projected goal. Payroll is going to be good this year. :D It was packed yesterday and today as well. I'm glad I'm off on Sun.

some Kodak cameras were on sale in the $80's and I could have thrown them out like candy (and practically did). All I saw were a sea of arms as I was shouting, "Back, ye devils!" ;)

bought a macbook pro last week and saw that the price dropped by $100 for black friday.. Normally they do not give price match refunds for sale dates like black friday, but I talked to a manager and they bent the rules and credited my account! whee! It really only took off the cost of tax.. but hey! it is awesome! I feel like I live in Oregon or something.

tell me what you think about this monitor.. i ordered it online last night with the black friday deal. does it feel cheap? does it atleast look nice? any pics? thanks!
Here's a snap. It's pretty good. Again, not at all as crisp as the built-in iMac display, but definitely useable.
