Nothing says Merry Christmas like 5 mothers fighting for 1 Tickle Me Elmo doll.:p

Oh man,,You have just summed up my thoughts on the whole thing. My plan for "Black Friday" is a simple one. I might leave my apartment to take a walk somewhere, but that is about it. Lay in a good supply of rental DVD's, kick back, and relax. Food? I'll have plenty of leftovers, and I never, ever get tired of Turkey. :D

Personally, I think this whole business with the toy shortages is carefully arranged.

So, what's the hot toy this Christamas? By that, I mean the one that parents will stand in line for (in the cold) and get in fights for?

But seriously - folks still shop in, like, actual retail bricks & mortar stores? I think the only thing I've bought in bricks & mortar stores is clothing - everything else has been ordered online from the comfort and privacy of my own home. Then again, I haven't tried to buy something like a 42" plasma TV online, either...

I did that! Bought a 42" LCD TV from Costco online. Worked great! The delivery guy even helped me lift the really heavy 35" tube TV off the stand.

But online is the only way to deal with Black Friday.

I have never shopped early in the morning, though I have gotten good deals later on in the day when there were some items that didn't sell out. Last year I was off on Black Friday this year I am working but I do not go in until like 2 in the afternoon so most of the good stuff will be gone and the crowds while they will be plenty (because it is Wal-Mart) won't be as bad.

I'm looking forward to Black Friday because that is the day I hope to go and buy a new MacBook! :D You have to love the $100 off!

I absolutely love black fridays. I have worked the last 2 years on black friday and Im looking for to this year's black friday. :D. Its fun to see the mothers fighting for some stupid toy or some electronic item.

i dont see why not target will be having a 500 GB for $87 according to the blackfriday.info site.

Black Friday in Japan? I'm not sure - Are Christmas and Chanukah big deals over there? Granted, over here it's not really about religion anymore, so why should it be over there?

I'll ask.

No black friday in Japan, they don't do American thanksgiving there(I was there for Thanksgiving in 2003)

I have worked many BF's in a row, and will be again will be working as that is the business I have chosen to make a career of. For the most part people are cool about it where I work, but it does amaze me to watch the hoards at the local Best Buy. Getting in line at 4:00 am?? Don't forget you can order most of the products online Thanksgiving day and not have to battle the lines and idiots fighting for a dollar saved.... Other then that, ENJOY THANKSGIVING, you all have plenty to be thankful for!!!

I'm getting a TV on black friday

which is the best deal

or find a deal equally as good online with free shipping

This seems like a far stretch from a twisted and half-educated thought-process.

But a majority of Mac users are people who pay a premium for a computer that works and is better integrated than most of the PC market. We don't (as a majority) like risky purchases or shoddy product. (Hence us using Macs and the HUGE number of complaint threads that pop up with the smallest changes and problems found) Things that an average Windows user would never spot.

Maybe, because of this "Apple user mentality" these same people (as a group) aren't as willing to jump on a Black Friday Deal - because of the chance of sub-par product? We'd rather not deal with the insane crowds and potential return / exchange headaches.

Maybe - I'm just spending WAAAY too much time on this Forum.

ugh got a Mac Mini yay! but once they opened the Apple store everyone ran to the cash regester and people acccidently knocked over Mac Pros,iPhones, and iPods they had to pay (a LOT!)
