From the perspective of some pictures I've seen, I've been thinking that the MacBooks look pretty big, but now I realize they aren't much bigger than the iBooks. Just thinner and a bit wider. Cool pics, thank you! 🙂

But yes, they are not much different over the 12" iBook's size. In fact, with the 16:9 aspect ratio they look SMALLER! The fact that they are widescreen notebooks makes you forget about the actual height of the screen. With the dock opened, you have very little workspace! I also forgot to mention that it is pretty heavy. In all honestly, it feels only slighter lighter than my 17" MacBook Pro. I haven't checked what Apple weigh's it at, but I am pretty sure it's not that far off from the Pro line notebooks.
It's good for people who blog, surf, listen to music.... Even if I had another choice today and was limited in money, I would chose the $1999 MBP over any of the MacBooks.
That Blackbook looks like it's aluminium. Mabye Apple just took the shell of the 12" powerbook and sprayed it black!😀

Dark Corners on 17"MBP
One can clearly see the difference between the two screens. The big 17" screen is darker on the top, something I have noticed on several 15 but moreso on 17" screens.
I also noticed, that the screen of ALL PB's and MBP's wobbles slightly back an forth if the laptop is placed on a table which wobbles, or if on the lap. I never had this problem with any of my previous TOSHIBA or IBM laptops.🙂
It seems to be typical for the way the screen is connected to the lower body. I consider this a design fault, neglectable, but unusual.😕

Hey chill with the large font, ok? What the heck? And the screen does not "wobble". With any laptop there is going to be some screen movement, especially in larger screen sizes, when the laptop is moved. Thats what happens when you have something that weights a pound or two and is only supported on one edge.DeVizardofOZ said:

It's the thing we photographers call "flash". It may be new to you, but look at the pics, the flash is obviously seen on the MBP, and it just so happens to be near the bottom, that is why it is brighter there. Look closer next time.

I like the white-dark contrast too, but prefer the white macbook. So I opened it up, took out the white background on the logo and replaced it with a black transparency 🙂

ah....Macs are a thing of beauty, even the box is quite pretty. I throw away all of my boxes, but I kept my MBP box...is just so pretty 😱 (i dont have it on my living room like some apple-zealots would, its hidden on a closet, but is there to remind me the amazing attention to detail, design wise at least.)

I absolutely agree with you on this, based on when I first looked at the MB's in the Apple store. Obviously it's just perception but to me that difference seems more noticeable and "goofy" with the white MB's while not quite as bad with the black ones.
