On apple's website, it's $79 for the AppleCare+ and $79 service fee. Where did $99 come from?

Still, we are talk about at least $160 for a repair. I bought my Space Black in mint condition for $390. If you can get $200 for a watch with broken screen, I don't see the point of getting AppleCare+. Used watches are only going to get cheaper and cheaper.

I'm in Canada, the land of higher prices...

screw that... it's not worth the $99!
Keep in mind that if you do not use the coverage, you can ask for some refund at the end of the coverage period and a lot of times when they see you have coverage they will do work without charging. Sometimes they will as they should but at times they don't. Neither of these things will happen if you dont have the plan and it you do something more than break the display like getting water inside or crushing it completely. A basic display swap may not work out for the math exactly but more than that can happen to a device.

I don't see what the issue is. This is exactly why he (and myself) bought AppleCare.

$100 is much better than buying a new screen or a whole new watch.
Agreed - I'd gladly spend a little money (not that 100 is a little) if it could save me a lot of money. With the apple watch being what it is, AC was a no brainer for me.

Black SS falls to it's death...literally.

I would love to see the figurative interpretation. Some hipster in black tights and leggings, wearing a poorly designed paper machet watch outfit, doing a figurative dance piece on watches falling to the ground and cracking.

An audience of pompous college sophomores snap their fingers in applause.

Bongos fade us out...

Thx to this thread by the OP . . . I was on the edge and only had another week to pull the trigger before I hit 60 days. I called applecare today and bought one for my watch and another one for the watch I bought for my brother!

Even though my credit card extends apple's regular warranty for the $49 applecare policy I'd rather not have to jump through hoops getting mastercard to make good on their extended warranty.

Which CC did you use?

Be careful when you use Discover. It doesn't really extend Apple's warranty. They just allow you to file claims through a third party insurance company, and that company is ******** imo. The woman taking my claim hung up on me for simply asking what they do with all the personal info they collect.

I used mastercard. Years ago visa had better warranty coverage than mastercard, but I think I read they are both the same now extending a products regular coverage by another year.

Wow, telling others what to do based on one's own personal beliefs? Nice.

Don't want to shop on Sunday? Want to go to church? Great, old books with fanciful tales and ornate buildings dedicated to them aren't really my thing, but it's great if they are yours, seriously, that's awesome for you if it makes you happy. But this kind of religious pushiness is what gives religion (and the religious) a bad name...

Don't go shopping or visit stores on Sunday. Church and family day :) (not even for the watch)

I interpreted that response as simply explaining that they don't go shopping on a Sunday, not trying to force it on anyone else or dictate what anyone else should do...

He didn't tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do. If you re-read the thread, he was responding to a question asked by another poster.

Exactly !

I got my replacement watch yesterday! I was told it's brand new and not a refurb. Very happy that I had that AppleCare Plus. It felt strange not wearing the watch for a few days.

Yeah, they do not do in store replacements. Call AC+ and do an express replacement.

It's my understanding that if you have AC+ and call Apple, they'll send a replacement quickly. But if you have AC+ and go to a store, the replacement takes much longer. Is that accurate? If so, why would anyone bring their AW to a store for repair?

That is exactly correct. The only reason to go in store is b.c lack of knowledge. In store they send it off for repair.

I guess that is a way of reading it (e.g. what I hear you saying is that you are assuming there is supposed to be an "I" in front of that sentence so it would read "I [d]on't go shopping or visit stores on Sunday. Church and family day :) (not even for the watch)" versus what he actually said, "Don't go shopping or visit stores on Sunday. Church and family day :) (not even for the watch)", which, of course, is a command/statement about what someone should or should not do).

Just be glad you didn't drop an $8000 Rolex (or an $800 Hamilton, for that matter).

Anyone purchase AppleCare plus from Target? It's only $40 on their website.
