Are we talking about the Milgauss by any chance? :D

Nope, it is the green Submariner I like. The face is a rich emerald green. It would be amazing if the big names would let apple recreate their watch faces but I have a feeling Rolex would prefer we have an actual Rolex. But that picture DOES help make the point of how great SS can look. I can get the one I like for about $7,500. I think the one you pictured is a LOT more than that. I would guess about $9,500 but have no idea.

Colors can vary enough in real life that I don't even bother to give them a thought at this point. It'll be reserved for an in store viewing.

Get the classic SS.
Knowing Apple, they'll probably use a cheap PVD process for the black coating and will easily get scratched. Remember iphone 5?

Yes, it is nice too indeed. And I agree that Rolex and others don't want their brand cheapened or likened to be a mass consumer item.

It's a combination of how dark it is and how well other bands would look with it. But, the bands pushed me over.

Exactly what I was thinking. The grey looks GREAT with the matching link, but not so much with the other bands. So I think for versatility sake I'm just gonna go with the SS.

The one I wanted is just like the one pictured in post #29. Except I hate the Rolex date so I wanted to get it without. Isn't that green amazing! I have huge hands and also really like the heft of that big SS bracelet.

1. My iPhone 5 doesn't have any scratches after 2.5 years. In the winter it's in a bulky case in a roomy coat pocket. When I don't wear the coat, the phone is caseless in my pants pocket.

2. Apple's description of the black SS watch says the surface treatment is DLC, not PVD. Of course, the details of the DLC process matter a lot. The only way to be sure how durable it is will be to try it.

The black will probably only look good with a black band. If you plan on changing the bands SS is much more versitile.

I found this out with the moto 360. The SS also matches pretty much anything you wear. Call me OCD, but a light grey suit with a brown belt and brown shoes looks silly with a black watch.

I'm kind of assuming many people on here aren't into fashion. Oh, and black goes with pretty much anything.
