Okay, so it looks like the pro choice is the favored here.

I was also doing some research and found from another thread the new photoshop CS4 or whatever the name will be, is going to start using the GPU more. Meaning that what the macbook has now will work, but in the next year or two might be limiting.

I think I need to play with both again at the store and weigh out all the points you have given me.

Thanks again for the advice everyone

dont forget the pci 3/4 slot (or whatever it's called) and the FW 800 port (in terms of expansion and more expanded usability.

along with the LED display, the backlit keyboard, etc - there are little things that make a difference depending on what you do.
i.e.
it's not just the gfx and the screen size.

Well I went to check out both computers again yesterday...what an experience. I am currently staying in Singapore, and they really need help here. No laptops have photoshop installed or any other 3rd party program to see how the computer handles them. Everyone is trying to up sell, so despite my frustrations, I just played with the basic functionality.

I have to say, even though the pro has a dated look to some degree, it is still a beautiful computer. LED screen is nice and the feel to me was more to my liking. The macbook is great, but I think I might follow the recommendations here and go pro. Its a bit more price wise but I think I will be happier down the road for my needs.
