I ordered Thursday, and received an eBay confirmation email yesterday saying the item had been dispatched, so fingers crossed.
I find this case very good looking also. But for the life of me, why don't people understand that they don't work? There have been around 5 different companies that came out with an all aluminum case and they all failed in 1 way or another. The Vapor, the original Atomic, Alumacase, the Raw and none of them work correctly. So why are people still buying them? Science is not going to change in the next couple of weeks to magically allow this case to work any better than the others. Just seems like a waste of time and money to me.
I know exactly how you feel...I'm feel I'm screaming into a tornado....aluminum over the antenna band kills signal - pure and simple...oh well, I guess they gotta be like you and me and buy a few, thinking the next one is better before they listen. Then hand them a Atomic Hybrid and see what happens....and I love the quotes that "I've got good signal where I go so I don't need it"....wait till you're somehwere you've never been, and you want internet or a call and you got squat...UFC and I will be there to hand you a hybrid (LOL)
OK, I think we all know by now that you and UFC loves the Atomic hybrid. Personally, I still think it's an ugly imitation of the Vapor and it's just a plastic case for a lot of $$$$. Yes it's true that most of the aluminum cases that I bought do lose some signal, around 1 bar, but I've never had any drop calls. And my Vapor case is perfect. I've had no problem with it whatsoever, gps,wifi and reception are excellent!
See what costs more, derin or aluminum and then come back and say what's cheap!! Delrin costs 4x's the price of aluminum. But I'm pretty happy with my cheap piece of "plastic". You can keep using your case that's kills all functions of your phone, it's your phone!! Buy what you please, just don't plan on using gps or 3G!
Why do do you keep saying it kills the function of my phone? I've been using it a couple of months already and have no problem whatsoever. And I don't care how much delrin cost. It still looks plastic to me!
Well your entitled to your opinion and the reason I say it kills the functions of your phone is because it does!! There is a 105 page thread that says so, so you must have the only one that does not affect your phone in any way shape or form! All those people in the 105 page thread must be lying!! You've never seen a Atomic hybrid in person so how can you say it looks cheap and like plastic? Every person who has seen mine thought it was aluminum but whatever you say!
Plus there was a test done with the vapor in a real testing facility done by professionals who were completely unbiased and they said the same thing! But they must be lying too!! Somebody probably paid them to give the results they did! Jesus!!
If you go back to the Vapor thread again, a lot of people doesn't have any issues with the case. I understand that you don't have a very good experience with Element, but you don't have to go through every aluminum case thread and bash the Vapor every chance you got.
I didn't bring the vapor up, you did! I said all aluminum cases. Your the one who brought your vapor into this discussion!
Dude you brought up the hybrid too!! Not me, so quit saying that I keep bringing stuff up because you brought up the vapor and the hybrid! Re-read your posts!

His isn't the only one that works and you know it. Mine does and scattered throughout this thread there are positive experiences from users. Not half of them but I'll bet it's close.

Kai - its great that you've had no issues with the vapor. I had no issue with the atomic aluminum or the alumacase, or any other farraday cage (including the exo 5) that I've seen fit to throw around my phone: as long as I was in an area with great reception.
If you're lucky enough to have that kind of signal strength around you, more power to you...however to continuously call the atomic a "cheap knockoff" and to talk negatively about the cost as compared to the materials isn't just biased, it's plain ridiculous and flat out uneducated.
A 12x12 sheet of 2MM thick delrin costs approximately 130-140 bucks. Similarly shaped/sized piece of aluminum would be around 10 bucks (walk down any kitchen supply aisle...cookie sheets are frequently made of aluminum, and even with a non stick coating added can still be had for around 12 bucks. As someone who frequently bought delrin parts for paintball I can tell you that the crap is expensive as hell, and IS in fact far more difficult to work with than aluminum. In addition this bit is NOT 100% delrin but rather a delrin/graphite mix.
There's nothing "cheap" looking about the hybrid, or the atomic aluminum case. I would never say the vapor looks cheap - I think it's a great looking (albeit virtually identical to the atomic) case...so yea I have a hard time watching you bad mouth a case that looks exactly the same as a case you keep praising.
In any event, now I've thrown in my two cents. Again, glad the vapor works for you: you seem to be one of about 3 people in this forum who haven't had issues...and the ONLY one obsessing over the look of the atomic cases

I wouldn't say it looks identical to the vapor but very similar(because it's a knockoff). What I don't like about it is that it has a more squarish corner and the side is more slab sided. I didn't said anything about the cost of delrin because I don't know anything about it and not interested to know. But again, I still think it looks like plastic! As for me ,I buy aluminum cases is because I want it to look like aluminum and I like my case to have the same color all around ,not mix and match. I don't obsessed over the looks of the vapor just think it looks a lot nicer than the atomic.

Disadvantages of acetal based plastics:
* Low impact strength
* Low melting temperature
* More rigid than nylons
* Very high thermal expansion
* Sensitive to acid hydrolysis and chlorine attack

Most of the interior of every high line vehicle sold today is plastic too but it does not act and look it. Have you put your hands on a delrin case? Until you do, I would not be so absolute that you know of what you speak. I have one. I have handed it to everyone I know, and 4 out of 5 think it's metal. Black metal aluminum is the guess. two guessed titanium - it's hard. Get your hands on one and then post here....I will say I can't see owning a white one as the color makes it look plastic, but the black looks and feels like metal.

Your still missing the fact that it's not just Delrin and that is exactly why! For every reason you just stated is the reason it has other materials in it also!! Plus how many people actually buy a single color vapor? And if you think this case looks cheap then you must think the ar15 looks cheap because they look identical and I think that's elements best seller!! Go figure!
