Waiting for the game to be banned at every single country worldwide.

Absolutely everything microtransaction and Pay to Win that exists out there is exploited to the max on this game.

Long gone are the days Blozzard made games to gamers, from gamers. Now they make games to shareholders and people with more money than sense.
its clear you didnt tried it, or you wasnt in beta
How it works, since is kind of false of what are you saying but also you are right at the same time
lazy wales will never reach a hard core 6-8h/day diablo immortal gamer....loot you cannot buy from anywhere, you have to play for it
hard core wales are the top and will be the real immortals...think like Diablo of this game...this game has a boss but that big boss is no longer an NPC liek Diablo but a real player/clan (this is incredible and a great idea for future games, not just blizzard games)
then its casual gamer FTP...that will sit above lazy wales still
and then its the hard core FTP gamer that will sit around the hard core wales with a little disadvantage but still on top
The bottom line is this..in this game you can spend 100k $ but if you dont play the game enough you are a joke
Only at top tier Immortals the money can benefit the player thanks to the top tier gems and thats kind of it
So you are right, but also very wrong since a FTP gamer with enough time can play this game from 0 to infinite

And some awesome systems from D Immortal like warband will be coming in D4 that will have even less microstransaction

Blizzard didn’t make this mobile game to my knowledge, it just happens to be based on their IP and comes from a third party.

I think there were a few articles saying it was banned on release in countries that don’t allow loot boxes. This should speak volumes but people can vote with their money. I’m sure we’ll see something related to a child, who shouldn’t be playing this game already, spending thousands of their parents money on it and wants a refund.

Immortal like, there’s no end to the amount of money you can give us, and we’ll keep creating imaginary items for you to spend it on forever. Should have called it Diablo Immoral.

And yeah this is exactly why everyone in the audience groaned. “Do you not have phones” really does sum it up. Blizz has no idea why people wouldn’t like something that makes Blizzard so rich. They completely ignore why people were upset.

Someone once said it is very difficult to make a person understand something, when that person’s paycheck depends on them not understanding it.

It's quite telling that to claim your free daily reward you need to go into the Shop screen area and see what "deals" they have on. If that isn't a psychological drive for someone to get more "rewards for paying", I don't know what is.

Edit: Notice how the Free Daily Reward is out of center-screen sight and placed in the bottom right corner, instead you are faced with "+800% EXTRA VALUE!" and other images. This is predatory.

Looks pretty good. Had a quick look on phone - well made game. I think it'll be successful. Good idea to fill with microtransactions, only negative I can see is it all looks pretty slow, which is the counterpoint to this form of monetisation. I watched a YouTube stream on 2x and the voices were normal speed! That means they're really pushing the deferred pleasure psychology. Still, interesting to see what people will spend one or two of the 1200 months of their lives on. Nice for Activision and should be good for Apple too.

This game is not for me, I'm not the target audience, so meh whatever.

That being said, I'm more curious to see what kind of future a game like this has if/when the Microsoft acquisition of ActivisionBlizzard goes through. As a Microsoft subsidiary, focusing on Xbox and PCs, will a microstransaction spinoff of Diablo have a future? We shall see.

If the wiki is accurate, it sounds like Blizzard and NetEase co developed it. I know back in 2018ish, people were saying that Blizzard was using NetEase’s gaming engine to do the development in house

I would much rather pay once ($30-$50) and enjoy the game endlessly, rather than have a "free" game where my joy is tied to spending money every step of the way. This is not the Diablo series that I grew up with.
you can...people are not understanding how this game works, some in my team already over 400 hours beta included...you can become Immortal with 0 cents
Here you pay for laziness thats all and for very high end PvP or PvEvP, but again that is for hard core top tier level

This is like LoL you spend all of your money on skins if you want. Only top players will spend 10k for extra in the top tier high level PvP

Not sure I want to put this on my phone. It looks like a real battery killer.

But apparently it can be (unofficially) side-loaded on M1 Macs and works fantastically! Hopefully there'll be an official Mac release soon?

Hello. When I bought my MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon late last year, I was told that games that were released for iOS can also run on macOS. How do I enable this feature on my MacBook Pro so I can play Diablo? -QuantumDot

A game no one asked for whilst Reforged is rotting away after its release. What happened to good old Blizzard?

While I am strictly a PC gamer, it is quite nice to have a blizzard game available right from your pocket. Personally I have been having a ball with this game since last night.

I sure wish it was a paid app like X-Com, with no further monetization. Oh well. I've played it about an hour and really enjoyed it. It's amazing that there was so much character customization on an app like that. But I'm not sure 99% of it is noticeable.

Agree with both comments. This is why I have a PlayStation and Switch. Buy a game once, play forever. Sure some games come out with DLC and you can argure the value of it, but even then you can generally get them at a steep discount. I'm so far behind on the Assassin's Creed series, I just wait for the current one to go on sale, usually below $20, and then grab it. You can spend way more time than you should in that series without getting micro-transacted to death.

Now, if they would just fix the Titanfall 2 servers...

Plays pretty smoothly on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Plays well, but not as pretty looking, on the 2018 iPad Pro (this could be due to the differences between LCD and OLED screens).

I feel like those who splurged for the 2tb M1 iPad Pros are in the sweet spot for playing this mobile. And speaking of, the full install is about 13.5gb, so you better have gigabutts interwebs.

As for loot boxes… you don’t like ‘em? Don’t buy ’em. It’s not required.
