Hi

New here - please be gentle :)

I have an iPhone 5s with latest IOS - 7.0.4.

I have a Blocked caller (one person, two numbers, both set to Blocked) that actually made the phone ring just now.

Is this a known error/bug/hack?

I've unblocked and reblocked the caller numbers (not called me back yet, to test) and I have called my phone from a landline, blocked that and it worked.

Has someone found a way around making a successful call from a blocked number?

It could be a bug. But you should also block at the carrier level too. That way the call won't ever reach your phone.

You can't. I've contacted orange to do this and they said to stop the calls I'd have to change my number...not ideal eh orange?!!

You can block up to 5 numbers for free for 3 months at a time thru Verizon website which is pretty neat and OP its most likely a bug issue but wont do it everytime. I had a call block feature from an app on an android and once in a blue moon the call would go thru.

How do you have the numbers saved?

You need to save the number with the country code stored.

Thing is if the person really did you want to keep calling you, all they have to do is hide their number.

That's my understanding. iOS 7 matches the phone number so a blocked or unknown number coming in will ring through.

I used to use Trap Call which would unblock numbers so they displayed on the phone. I don't know if that type of service is compatible with iOS 7's call blocking. IIRC it was $5 a month.

Correct.
If they call you caller id blocked or unknown then it will come through.
iOS 7 will only block it if the number comes up and matches with a number you entered in the blocked list.

I have AT&T, not sure if they have anything like this. To be able to just block someone at the carrier level by entering their number on a website sounds pretty awesome.

Edit: Of course AT&T charges for this, why am I not surprised. http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-SmartLimitsForWireless
I recalled Cingular charging, I never bothered with AT&T but Verizon is free afaik. I used it and didn't see a charge.
