Bloomberg, which tech company that manufactures hardware not impacted by global chip shortage? Why Apple being impacted is so special all of a sudden? Plus, those machines are powerful nonetheless. Once supply meets, demand will come. Why bother lingering around an issue originated by global pandemic and say this? Is apple not having a world record sales number for a few quarters because of situations clearly beyond their control this bad that Apple is being “threatened”? Get a grip and stop fear-mongering.
Heh… Tim Cook certainly doesn’t need a Mr Obvious in his toolbox.Maybe you can direct these questions and accusations to Mr. Cook as well, since he said the same thing:
During the company's third-quarter earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook warned that the chip shortage that has plagued the industry for the last few months would impact iPhone shipments this year.
The need for security drove the evolution of fear.Makes sense. Fear drives the need for security, and the rest go along with it.
Why didn't you get the MBPro with M1, or even the latest Air at the very least then?Ordered my mbp literally moments after the end of the keynote. Happy that it will be delivered next week. Not exactly an impulse buy, I was waiting for it to be released to replace my almost 8 year old Air.
FEAR is the most dangerous emotion and the media uses it with abandon. The need for security drove the evolution of fear.
I wouldn't be surprised if resources and assets are diverted to crypto instead of manufacturing with how crazy the gains are.I think it’s ridiculous the shortages are still happening. What’s preventing the manufacturing? Is it the whole cryptocurrency rush?
As the pandemic has lessened, demand skyrocketed. At the same time China began ramping up production, they began to have rolling blackouts. China is limiting coal plants to try and be carbon neutral by 2060. As demand for electricity has gone up, the costs of coal has gone up, but China restricts the cost of energy, and power plants refuse To operate at a loss. Also, demand for Chinese goods are at an all time high, putting a crush on world wide shipping. That’s where it starts. From there, there is a world wide labor shortage, so raw materials are harder to come by and harder to ship. It essentially comes down to supply and demand: a lot of demand, and not enough supply, for multiple reasons.I think it’s ridiculous the shortages are still happening. What’s preventing the manufacturing? Is it the whole cryptocurrency rush?

I mean, unless you became a pro filmmaker, 3D artist, or an engineer in those 8 years, what use is the new beast 2021 MBPro going to be to you?
Just curious... Because with so many (non-pros) laptops already available from Apple, I think calling it an impulse buy from you is actually really appropriate lol...
…or maybe the demand just isn’t as strong for the Apple Watch S7 or iPhone 13 lineup. The 13 announcement was almost as lackluster as the announcement for iPad Pro 4th Gen.
It‘s almost as if Apple and others are making a preemptive cover for possible disappointing quarterly numbers. As some who upgrades every year since the iPhone 6, I skipped the the 13 Pro. I know I’m not the only one.
