…or maybe the demand just isn’t as strong for the Apple Watch S7 or iPhone 13 lineup. The 13 announcement was almost as lackluster as the announcement for iPad Pro 4th Gen.

It‘s almost as if Apple and others are making a preemptive cover for possible disappointing quarterly numbers. As some who upgrades every year since the iPhone 6, I skipped the the 13 Pro. I know I’m not the only one.
The 13 Pro represents a much bigger upgrade from the 12 Pro than the 12 Pro was over the 11 Pro, yet because the 12 Pro was a newish design, people went nuts. 5G didn’t sell the 12 Pro. It had the same notch, same 60Hz display, and only the 12 Pro Max had a noticeable camera upgrade worthwhile. Meanwhile, the 13 Pro delivered ProMotion with brighter display, significantly better battery life, major improvements to the camera with new features like Macro and ProRes, much better Night Mode and low light, and a smaller notch. In my opinion, the 13 Pro is the epitome of what the X was supposed to be.

Bloomberg is credible? I don't think so.

It's Bull **** from Bloomberg - they don't have to be correct - they just have to move the stock price to have a worthy article.

Getting the excuses in early. 2021 is the year of stagnation in a ruthless, competitive market.

Why didn't you get the MBPro with M1, or even the latest Air at the very least then?

I mean, unless you became a pro filmmaker, 3D artist, or an engineer in those 8 years, what use is the new beast 2021 MBPro going to be to you?

Just curious... Because with so many (non-pros) laptops already available from Apple, I think calling it an impulse buy from you is actually really appropriate lol...
I can afford it and will enjoy the speed for many years to come. doing a batch treatment and export on a number of raw images will make a difference. I am also as a hobby busy with video and 3d. Also, actually I am an engineer since 2 decades from before I had my current Air.

Delayed shipping doesn’t necessarily mean less sales. I can imagine lots of people that have been waiting for the new MBPs don’t mind waiting a bit longer to get their hands on them.
It depends how long the delay is right? If you can’t get something for the holidays people might purchase something else they can get.

Some might, most probably won’t.
If they can’t buy something for a gift because of delays they are going to buy a different gift. We’re not talking about not buying forever, we’re talking about not buying for holiday season I s maybe a better way of saying it.

That's just not true. You can't get the phone directly from Apple for another month. People who already ordered are not seeing their shipping dates move up. There just isn't enough phones available for those who want to buy them, period. I would give them $1099 tomorrow if they would take it, but it's not available.

Adding: They're also at the point that they don't have to wow everyone who bought a new phone last year to upgrade to the new one. They can still break records just from folks upgrading from the 7-8-X-XS-11. I myself would be coming from an 8, for instance.
Is it not possible Apple could have supply chain issues causing the delays in shipments AND have weakened demand (compared to the 12s or projections), especially if the disruptions are as bad as what is being claimed?

I’m not saying the 13 lineup is not a major upgrade for those with older models. I‘m saying this is probably the least compelling upgrade year over year in the history of iPhone, like the 4th gen. iPad Pro (maybe not that bad, but you get the point).

Yup, all three things could be true as well. :) 1- It's the least compelling upgrade, 2-they still would have had a record quarter, just from those "due to upgrade" (like me), despite the non-wowing upgrade, and 3-the supply chain issues are preventing the record quarter from happening!

Non iPhone related, I went car shopping yesterday, and they had 7 new vehicles total (acroll all models from that automaker) in the lot, compared to about 250 they would normally have. For the model I want, they only have 1 new one coming each month, with some of the standard features removed and credited from the sticker price, because they don't have the chips available for those features. It's a really weird time right now.
