Bloomberg: New AirPods and AirPods Pro Coming in 2021, AirPods Studio Delayed, Third HomePod Model Also Possible

But if anything I want a Soundbar HomePOD or something on the higher end after this.

Agree 100%. I'll be in the market for a quality soundbar early next year and I'd love it to hear what Apple could do in that space. I'd hate to buy one from somewhere else (most likely Sonos), only to see Apple release one later.

I love my AirPod Pro's - first In Ear I have been able to use for more than 20 min.

HomePod - I like my HomePods - quality of music is incredible. But I do hate Siri - she does not understand me or the rest of our British family. The most often command used is probably "S*ut Up Siri"...

But for a future HomePod - please add WIRED audio connections not dependent on wireless in any way (so either stereo cable to one HomePod or 2 dual "mono" cables for stereo setup) so it can be used as a computer speaker.

I wish there was a way to make Apple understand that the tips on the AirPods Pro don't fit everyone and that it would be best if they could keep both types around. I tried all three tip sizes on the Pros before sending them back, I just couldn't get a good seal.

I also prefer tapping my AirPods to the more precise squeeze gesture; when I'm using exercise equipment a quick double pat approximately close to my ear is all that is needed and means I don't have to take my hands off the equipment. With the Pros it's a much more precise gesture and is not as quick.

I absolutely adore my Homepods as a stereo pair - if you care about great sound then absolutely go for the full size ones as for the money they sound incredible and the spatial awareness makes a big difference. Bear in mind they are bass heavy so if you don't like bass you might not like them but even with heavy bass they are distortion free even at high volume. They beat my previous much 5x more expensive speakers - plus they can be set to work as a cinema sound system for an apple tv which the mini cannot. Im still buying the minis though so I can have multiroom audio in my kitchen and bedroom! I just wished they had made it with a battery so it can be ported between rooms instead of having a big cable in the way.

I also initially thought HomePod was just a little bass heavy. But creating a stereo pair with two solved that and now create superb sound. Today, I now have two stereo pairs and a single HomePod. And am looking forward to new HomePod releases, including the Mini, and others down the road. Perhaps a sub and a soundbar.

It’s a shame that they’re going to adopt the form factor of the AirPod Pros for the entry level AirPods. I prefer the form factor of the original over the pros.
Personally, I would hate that. I've repeatedly tried several different brands of in-ear buds like the AirPods Pro (most recently BeatsX and Beats Flex) and I can't stand it. The only in-ear headphones that have ever felt comfortable for me to wear for an extended period of time has been the original Earpods and non-Pro Airpods. I even impulse-purchased a set of Beats Flex along with my iPhone 12 Pro (because I do prefer having the neck band/wire for when I take an earbud out) and returned them the next day because they were simply too uncomfortable to wear. Looks like I'll be sticking with using non-Pro Airpods with one of those $5 silicon bands for now.

I just wish my AirPod Pros would switch between my phone and ATV.
They'll auto switch to my phone but after that I have to connect them back to my ATV when I watch a show.
That was disappointing that Apple didn't implement that.

I also really hope they don't swap the design of the original AirPods for the Pro body style. I tried the Pros and couldn't stand the in-ear fit. I'm on the phone a lot and I'm usually wearing headphones 6+ hours a day. The fit of the Pros became incredibly uncomfortable to me after an hour of wear or so. I definitely prefer the looser fit of the original design.

Agreed. Pros keep falling out for me. The "bulb" is too big, not allowing the tips (all sizes) to wedge in snuggly. If they don't rectify this, I'll have to look elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing your experience, or your 2 cents 😀, I’m very eager to test the new Pro. If it doesn’t fit me then 3rd generation regular will do.
They are great! I have a really noisy squeaky stationary exercise bike and one squeeze on the tip and noise gone and hello music. I also have a pair of the original AirPods they are still working great and I find I still use them just as much.

I’m torn between regular AirPods and AirPods Pro. I’d love spatial audio but regular AirPods are just easy to use.
I've been using AirPods for several years now. I saw the AirPod Pro was on sale during Prime Day, and picked them up.

I can't say that I noticed a difference in sound quality between the regular and the Pro; certainly not enough to warrant the price difference.

Worse (for me) is that the Pro is huge; it's intended to fill the entire outer ear cavity. Unfortunately, the back of my right ear is bent in slightly; you wouldn't notice it by looking at it, because it really is slight. But it's enough to keep the Pro from staying secure in my right ear. It kept popping out.

And to make matters even worse... the stems on the Pro are much shorter, and have a button on them to turn noise cancellation on/off. So as I'm trying to get it to stay in my ear, I'm grabbing the stem and repeatedly pressing the button. So annoying; I would have preferred a longer stem to grasp.

I didn't even have the Pro for a day before I realized the fit issue was a non-starter, and I gave them to my wife. And I appreciate my regular AirPods so much more. Easy to grab, easy to slip in, and they stay in place. I really hope Apple keeps version 3 smaller than the Pro.

To each their own, but for me its night and day difference between the two.

This is getting boring with the AirPods Studio. So glad I didn’t hold out for them any longer and bought the BeoPlay H95 instead.

I was going to say that is be happy if Apple released the AirPods Pro in black or grey for now (while we wait for the second generation – most likely next fall), but not so sure now after reading the multiple comments about the fit.

I'm keen to go with Apple/Beats as it's a pain to switch devices with other earphones.

If Apple adopts the AirPods Pro design for the entry-level AirPods, I'll be really disappointed.

Before AirPods originally launched, I went through a bunch of different earbud-style headphones looking for something I liked before finally trying Apple Earpods (at the time I was still on Android). Earpods were far beyond anything else I tried when it comes to comfort. I loved Earpods fit so much I wore out many sets and had to keep re-buying them.

When Airpods came out, I was thrilled they mostly kept the same Earpods design; the same comfortable fit without the irritating cord.

I've been using the same set of AirPods since 2017 with only one side replaced, and I use them for hours every day. Of course, at this point the battery life is awful, so I've been waiting for Apple to release an updated version before picking some up.

I think it would be a real shame if they move away from the classic Earpod design in the next release. I guess I can safely stock up on current-gen.

How does it know you are the one watching TV?

I will buy any updates to the AirPods Pro. One of my favorite Apple products of all time (as well as the original AirPods when they came out).

I love my HomePODs that I own. Will try out a Mini or two for smaller rooms where I dont have some regular ones. But if anything I want a Soundbar HomePOD or something on the higher end after this. They should drop the price officially to $200/250 on the regular model since it goes onsite for that regularly at this point.
Yeap, I use the absolute crap out of my Airpod pros. I have them in at least 3-4 hrs a day, while walking, exercising, doing chores, working etc. I'd buy an update immediately and give my current ones to someone in the family so they could enjoy them.
