Forget 1080p!!

1920i & 1920p HDTV is out!! Then again, I am in Japan... Might take a few decades for the technology to reach state-side.. Though, I do think we need higher density displays, with a smaller, finer transistors! :D

1080p resolution is 1920x1080.

I think they're trying to make it a wireless world where you're not tied to physical media anymore at least for the consumer space. That being said I'd guess that Blu-ray becomes an optional component aimed primarily at the Pro product lines (Video Editing). As someone else stated earlier, they are still pretty expensive.

I don't know if I'd want them to include BD on a MBP. think about it, the MBPs are already ridiculously expense as is, now add a BD and God only knows how much higher the prices will climb.

IMO, BD belongs on my 46" 1080p TV plumbed together with my home theater setup. I could care less about a BD option on a laptop. I want the MBP prices to come down a bit, not skyrocket even further.

Alright im a little confused, can current apple notebooks play HD, for example if you were to (using an external HD drive) pop in an HD movie, would the quality be better?

Would this mean apple would have to introduce a HD screen? or would their current screens support this quality?

all apple laptops ( and i believe imacs) support hd 720P but not sony's "TRUE HD" . and sony wouldn't put bluray into mbp's unless sony came out with a bluray player that uses half the power then the current ones, Because a major selling point for apples laptops are battery life.
