I never used Twitter/X. Not going to use this thing. The world does not need another social media dumpster.
It will be gone in a couple years at most.
X has become really good. Don't see the reason for Blue Sky's existence.
If you enjoy being sent to “thought adjustment camps,” then join BlueSky. If you deviate from their ideology, they will ostracize you. Say what you will about X, but it is a platform that values free speech, allowing everyone to express their opinions freely. Unless, of course, you prefer totalitarianism. If you like Holocaust denial with your breakfast cereal.
This is the part I find hilarious. You guys really can't see the difference between "I don't want to hang out on a site that monetizes Holocaust denial" and "I like thought adjustment camps for the masses."If you enjoy being sent to “thought adjustment camps,” then join BlueSky.
it's a copy of x for democrats/liberals, but with less features. Can someone explain to me what "BlueSky" does?
Because twitter was such a good name?Waiting for the network called Touchgrass, a just as stupid name.
Absolutely not, this is exactly what creates echo chambers.
That’s a lie.Fun fact is, you will get a much more interesting discussion here on MR than on any of the existing social networks, because… forum is forum, and it was like that ever since Ancient Rome!
2024? More like 2015.Also, LOL @ "breezy." I thought we finally left that trash buzzword in 2024. Don't tell me it's making a comeback.
Where did I say that? When did I compare them?Because twitter was such a good name?
Yeah I got that from another post, thanks. I suppose if there is a demand, sure, but I just don’t see this thing taking off. Why would the liberals go to this platform instead of X or Threads? Just like when Trump’s base tried to go over to that Truth social nonsense.it's a copy of x for democrats/liberals, but with less features.
It exists because of the demise of Twitter. It does all the old Twitter stuff to follow celebrates, sports, TV shows, movies, musicians, and more. Can someone explain to me what "BlueSky" does?
Haha, doing that all the time😃 In relevant topics ofc, see discussions like “wanna switch to Android. Losing faith in Apple”, this is almost a warzone. Writing about this somewhere like there would almost certainly break some “flood” rules. As a “once in a while” switcher, I still lean more towards Apple, and as a rule of thumb every “bad” feature that I personally dislike came from Android (App Library, overly large displays, camera overprocessing, lots of “recently deleted” in every stupid corner of the system etc)Watch what happens when you criticize Android on Macrumors, an Apple fan site.
Well I will probably try it one day but I still didn’t even try threads🤣 I just mean I don’t like this format where the only point of social media is to rant about something, either politics, society, travel or something else. People use these networks (X, Threads, Bluesky, dunno about Mastodon so can’t say for sure) just to vent about their lives. And quite often their rants are being pumped by bot activity while being TOTALLY UNRELATABLE WHATSOEVER.BOTHSIDES!
Nothing quite like not trying something yet still being able to declare you don't like it.
Hiding one's head in the sand may be tempting but it is also living in a pretend world.
I definitely want an iPad app but in the meantime the web version is fairly reasonable. Two facts:
Resolution limited to 2,000 * 2,000 pixels
No iPadOS app
I would say normal people can deal with Holocaust denial, since they've read history books and know it did happen. Flat earth proponents don't bother me because I know they are wrong, just like Holocaust denial. This is the part I find hilarious. You guys really can't see the difference between "I don't want to hang out on a site that monetizes Holocaust denial" and "I like thought adjustment camps for the masses."
I mean, really, there's miles and miles between the two. And normal people can see that.
And normal people can also decide to choose a site where Holocaust denial posts aren't being promoted into people's timelines.I would say normal people can deal with Holocaust denial.
So much truth lol.and as a rule of thumb every “bad” feature that I personally dislike came from Android (App Library, overly large displays, camera overprocessing, lots of “recently deleted” in every stupid corner of the system etc)
I find it curious that you have a problem with X and Holocaust denial, yet have no problem on Blue Sky where they basically want a 2nd Holocaust thanks to all the Hamas and terrorist sympathizers. 🤔And normal people can also decide to choose a site where Holocaust denial posts aren't being promoted into people's timelines.
My beef isn't with conservatives. My beef is with the kind of conservative who says every site must allow Holocaust denial on it, and that keeping out Holocaust denial and other forms of neo-Nazism is a bug, not a feature. Elmo is unfortunately that kind of guy, and that, not conservatives, is what drove me off Xitter. I mean, conservatives had been there all along, but Dorsey knew that Holocaust denial and neo-Nazi crap were poison and banned them. Xitter's Elmo-ification brought them back, and in doing so blew me out the door.
Heavens, you sure became a waste of time in no time flat.on Blue Sky where they basically want a 2nd Holocaust
If one dos not see the heavy right wing alignment of Elon and his obvious use of influence on the platform he bought... what are we even talking about? Whats next? Fox News and NBC are both neutral news sources? Or only the one of them because they align with "you" more? It's just so weird and out of touch. If you enjoy being sent to “thought adjustment camps,” then join BlueSky. If you deviate from their ideology, they will ostracize you. Say what you will about X, but it is a platform that values free speech, allowing everyone to express their opinions freely. Unless, of course, you prefer totalitarianism.
blue sky is the best new platform for users right now.
Id argue that Bluesky has more features where it matters for me. The main reason, besides following some of the creators I like that left X, I enjoy the platform is the options to cater it to your needs. X, and twitter before it, never allowed that. I can block words to avoid all the politics infighting I dont want in my feed, I can subscribe to ban lists curated specifically to avoid crypto talk and Ai images. So I see a lot more about photography, personal development and soccer without constantly being barraged by all that crap.it's a copy of x for democrats/liberals, but with less features.
I'd rather not see literal nazi propaganda or cryptocurrency pump-and-dumps.

And whoopdiedo, some weirdo right wing politician is subscribed to the LonLon and likes X better because he can talk bad about muslims bad there. I am in shock, awe and surprise. It's almost as surprising as a left winger hating men receiving more love on BlueSky.
Some people cant even think as far as you could throw them.
Fun fact. I don’t want to have either of the political conversations and rather be exited and inspired about cool stuff while you are rocking a “evil inside” profile picture.nah dude. I am daily on X. Everyone can say whatever they want without harsh moderation. Its just there are "thought police" out there if they see opinions they do not like they want to shut them down. The migrants to Bluesky are probably that kind of people. You either oblige to their ideology or they ban you.
