I have a 2012 VW Jetta SE sedan & an iPhone 4, and formerly was able to stream music with no problems, good sound, and had control via my steering wheel to go forward or backwards with the songs.

Not so much with the iOS 6 update. Music quality is lower, and while I can get it to play & still control volume, I can NOT control forward/back with the steering wheel controls - I have to use the phone itself. I am NOT happy with this.

This describes my situation perfectly. I've got a Kenwood DNX6190HD which, until iOS 6, worked perfectly with my iPhone 4S. The iPod cable connection still works as expected. I have also been able to stream w/ control using my Blackberry Bold 9170 (work phone but it has Bluetooth-connected Pandora and someone else pays the bill so... :) ).

I have a 2012 VW GTI. I still have controls but my sound quality is lower too. The sounds is choppy and distorted now. I'm pissed!

Airplay Choppy since iOS6 update

Since I updated both my iPhone 4 and received my new iPhone 5 to iOS 6 airplay has been ridiculously choppy and totally unusable. Hope Apple fixes this soon. Anyone else having problems?

Ever since the update to iOS 6 on my 4S, Bluetooth audio on my Creative wireless speakers and in my 2010 Mazda 3 has been cutting out.

Hopefully Apple will come out with a fix. Last year when iOS 5 was released, there was a Bluetooth bug with the volume and sometimes music would not even stream. Apple fixed it 6ish weeks later, so I'm confident there will be a fix.

lost audio for youtube via bluetooth

I upgraded to ISO 6 last night, and of course I lost the 'good' version of youtube so i downloaded the app; I can play and control music no problem, but I get zero audio from youtube when using bluetooth. If I switch to phone speaker I get audio but when I use bluetooth audio I get a...sour Apple!

Any way around this?

Never had any issue prior to ISO 6.

BT version issue?

I have an LG HBS-700 headset, which is BT 2.1 standard that works perfectly with iOS6 and the iPhone 5. However, I just purchased the HBS-730 Tone+ model, which is BT 3.0 standard. When paired, a different icon appears up top next to the standard BT icon. Also, I get frequent choppy playback on audiobooks and podcasts (that have already been downloaded... no streaming), Netflix has all sorts of funky buffering/playback issues that started with the BT 3.0 device, and the play/pause button doesn't work with audiobooks/podcasts/music when I tap it. The Stop function (hold down the play/pause button for 1 second) works, however.

If I switch back to the BT 2.1 device, all symptoms disappear entirely. What's more, I can replicate the exact same behavior on the iPad3 in all respects.

So, my hunch is that iOS6 has perhaps introduced issues with BT 3.0 and/or 4.0... maybe... I obviously can't say for certain, but that's my input at this point.

So far so good

I have an iPhone 4 and a 2010 Mazda 3 and I could swear it sounded BETTER after the upgrade. There are also no problems with my BT Logitech Boombox.

I too have noticed choppy/static sound when paired with my Logitech wireless boom box. However when I switch to Pandora There are no issues. So it's either a bluetooth and/or music app issue. Also the music app and home sharing on my 4S is very unstable. Works fine on my iPad 2 though.

Yup - since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, bluetooth audio in my 2012 Jeep Patriot seems choppy, and cuts out.

Yep.

I have been using Rocketfish Bluetooth Headphones for about a year now. after iOS6 update I can't even put my phone in my pocket without it cutting out. I pretty much have to have it 3-4 feet away. Its terrible.

I used to be able to leave my phone somewhere like my work desk and go across the room with my headphones working fine.

I hope this can be fixed or someone has a suggestion.

I am waiting on my iPhone 5 to come so hopefully that is better.

Having the exact same issue with my Beats Wireless headset and iOS6...

I just sent this email to both Apple and "Monster" (company making the Beats headsets):

Hi. I own the Beats Wireless Headset (Model MH-BTS ON SO BT V2 WW with the serial number: xxxxxxxxxx).

I have two problems with the headset:

1) Since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, my Beats Wireless Headset keeps cutting out when playing music... sometimes it even stops! It is very annoying... is there some way to fix this? Can I expect Apple to fix this issue with the next iOS version??

2) When I turn on the Beats Wireless Headset and call someone (or receive a phone call), the sound is very low (both the ringing sound plus the person I speak to).... I then have to adjust the volume up before I can hear the person I am talking with. This only happens the FIRST time that I make a call or receive a call... next time I make a call or receive a call, the headset works as it shoulud but only as long as I don't turn off the headset. If I turn off the headset, I then again have to adjust the volume up when someone is calling me or I make a call... as said the volume is so low that I can hardly hear the ringing tone when I receive a call while I hear music.

Is this normal, or should I go to my dealer and have my headset exchanged for a new one??

I hope you will answer my questions quickly and clearly since the bluetooth issues and call volume issues are really annoying.

Best regards,

B

Yikes, lots of people affected. Hopefully there is a fix out soon!!

Bluetooth plays fine except I cant use the units buttons and the info isnt displayed over to the unit. I have a pioneer 44000bh. I had a problem in iOS 5 though, I wouñd connect the phone to the unit and it would play fine but I would turn off the car with the phone connected and turn it back on, it would play for a few seconds and then go silent. iOS6 fixed this problem but created a new one lol

Has this problem been forgotten??

My Beats Wireless headset is STILL not working... there are cut-outs when playing music. Sometimes the music just stops! It's very frustrating!

WHY doesn't Apple fix this? HOW long must we wait for this?!?!?

In a weird bit of irony, my bluetooth is suddenly working. It's still sluggish, but I have full control & tags.

What did I do? My car & my iPhone 4 were separated for about 3 weeks, while my car was in the shop. I told the phone to forget the device (the VW radio), and had to 'reboot' my phone a few times during the last few weeks (for various other issues). When I got the car back on Friday (10/12), I re-paired the devices, but it still didn't work. Okay, no biggie. I'll just live with it, I thought.

Saturday afternoon, on a whim, I hit the 'media' button, and noticed that I had song info & full control again. The music app had not been on, but the car & radio had both been on for a few minutes before it picked up my phone.

It's still sluggish, but it's working. *knocks on wood*

I have to repare my iphone 5 to my vehicle bluetooth every time.... this will get old.

I am experiencing the same thing, or at least having trouble with it pairing a lot. I sometimes have to manually connect it, other times it jumps on just fine, and other times I have to repair.

Subaru Impreza 2011, btw.

I'm happy to report that my bluetooth headphones seem to be working much better on the iPhone 5 then it did on my iPhone 4.

Used them at the gym last night and got no music cutting out. Can go alot further.

Odd though with my 4 it acted up. I just wiped it again I should try again for ***** and giggles.
