I too was on a similar quest. I wanted a Bluetooth mouse since I don't want to give up 1 of my 2 USB ports on my Macbook. I also really wanted forward+back buttons since I've been using them for so long.

- I read that Bluetooth isn't very good if you need precision for hardcore FPS gaming (inherent lag etc. with Bluetooth). For light gaming its fine though.

- I was going to get the Microsoft 5000 since it had that 1 extra side button (V470 and the Razer Pro|Click do not so were deal-breakers), but never got around to buying one.

- Then I found the Radtech BT600, and I don't think theres anything else on the market that matches its features at this time. I was about to order one but then got an Apple Bluetooth mighty mouse as part of a recent purchase from a forum so I'm using it now since it was "free". Its not a bad mouse, but the fact that I have to "lift" my left finger off the mouse to be able to right-click, makes right-clicking kinda hard so I don't really game with it.

If you're willing to use a USB dongle, maybe go for the Logitech VX nano since it has the forward/back buttons (albeit at a non-conventional location) and the USB dongle is tiny and doesn't jut out much.

I'm in the same boat. I'm in the market for a BT mouse and I just don't know what to buy. I've read all the negative reviews about the mighty mouse, but it's still very tempting because like someone already stated for every person taht posted and complained how bad the mighty mouse is, i'm sure theres 4 others that loved it and didn't post about it. I bought the rocketfish mouse that looks like a knockoff of the mighty mouse and it was crap. after the first day it wouldn't move my cursor anymore. That radtech mouse that everyone is talking about looks veryyyy nice and is quite tempting but i'd like to see it in a store and not have to buy it online. The MS 6000 that has been talked about is very nice as well I saw it at bestbuy the other day, I'm just debating wether or not I want to buy it.

Has anyone else used the radtech mouse? Any other reviews? I just want to read a little bit more about it before I buy it, especially when buying online like this. I'm not using it for gaming at all (I have a xbox360 for that :)) I just want to use it so i dont have to keep using the trackpad when I'm at home. Any ideas?

No, the "Mighty" mouse really is that bad.

Personally, I have absolutely no problems with bluetooth mice. Saying that, I have also never seen a bluetooth mouse that I wanted to own. I bought myself a Logitech VX Nano because it's small, and it comes with a lot of buttons. I use the buttons for Exposé, spaces, and Apple+T (opens a new tab for webpages. I use the left-right scrollwheel tilt feature to quickly scroll up and down webpages.

The MX Revolution is even better, although it's full sized, and therefore, not nearly as portable.

And the last time I saw a RadTech BT mouse, I thought it was far too small to use regularly. The VX Nano is smaller than the MX, but only because the MX is massive. Compared to a regular mouse, the VX is only a bit smaller. It's not like other laptop mice, which are so small that they'd only fit a child's hand. It's a usable size. Not sure about the BT mouse.

I would have bought the MX revolution, but the price tag steered me away. I don't need all the features from the MX, so I just purchased the VX Revolution instead. Got it for $49 at Walmart...better than the $79 price tag that most stores sell it for.

BUMP

Okay, I also need a Bluetooth mouse. Here's what I'm looking for:

- First off, Mighty Mouse is out of the question. I've used them before; I don't find them ergonomic, I much prefere a scroll wheel to a ball, and I don't like the fact that I have to raise my index finger off the mouse to perform a "right click." Plus, I just can't justify spending $80 on a mouse.

- Must be full sized, not designated as a "notebook mouse."

- BLUETOOTH, not wireless USB. I don't know why Apple decided that I only need 2 USB ports, but they're wrong, regardless of their intentions.

- I'd like something that'll look nice sitting next to my MBP and previous-generation (white plastic) BT Apple keyboard. This is negotiable, however.

- Preferably under $40.

Beyond that, I'm not terribly picky. I was actually thinking about the "Apple" BT mouse made by RocketFish, which is very Mac-like in appearance. If anyone has any feedback on that, it'd be great.

Suggestions?

I'm using MS's BT Notebook Mouse 5000 and as previously posted, I love this mouse above all others. Though I paid $49 at Macworld SF '09, I'm assuming you can get a similar price or close to it at many of the warehouse retailers such as Fry's Electronics or even "a going out of business sale" at Circuit City. It compliments my Apple BT Keyboard, on the downside it is listed as a notebook BT mouse...

I use the bluetooth Rockfish. It works well, but doesn't have any fancy features. My only real complaint with it is that the scroll wheel is a tad noisy. Sounds like a ratchet. I'm continuing to look for something better where I can at least page forward and back using the mouse.

I tried the MS 5000 and took it back after a day. Nice looking mouse, but wouldn't stay connected.

For what it's worth, I've got the Logitech V470 and it's a bit of a nightmare; lose of connection every now and again but the main problem is when trying to select something from a drop-down menu, it takes ages to acknowledge a click.

Might Mouse is cool but the wheel needs cleaning every 5 minutes.

I have a Logitech wireless USB mouse, However I have just purchased the BT Apple Mighty Mouse off ebay for £25 as it does look sexier

Use wired mouse for gaming.

Get a corded, full sized mouse if you never going to move it.

is there anybody who tried out the Razer Pro|Click Mobile?
is it working without lags and still very precise?
it looks so solid, i would be very interested in any experience reports!
thanks!
flo

I use a v470 in OSX and Vista for general use and gaming on my MacBook and i can honestly say I've never had a problem with it. It is the 2nd best mouse i've ever used, the 1st being a MX518 but that's a full sized wired mouse :)
