Funny how some people just want to post what car they drive.
This started out specifically asking a legit question about a Land Rover and a bluetooth connection issue, then useless posts, like this one, are added.
Wow, so judgmental. The post you quoted to criticize was more relevant to Bluetooth pairing than your "We own a Wedding Photography business" response earlier in this thread. Lucky for you that you're the appointed Thread Policeman here, huh, LOL.

Well, you are right that I should NOT have written that. It did not serve a productive purpose. It sometimes gets fustrating when you are on here for real reasons and have to wade through such stuff though.

In regards to your personal comment towards me... I was specifically asked what I did by someone who also is interested in going all MAC with their own business. Thanks for giving me YOUR opinion though (just what you were chastising me for doing!).

It's also interesting to note you gave your MORAL opinion here too:

My plan? Buy another, switch the phones, eat the 10% restocking.
Will that work? Do they check sims? Do they check serials?
Thanks in advance,

English can be a tricky language. If you re-read my response in the post, which you went to the trouble to seek out & post in order to "Put me in my place", LOL, I did not offer an opinion at all. I simply asked a question.

My prior post in this thread was submitted only because I found the humor in your chastising another member for exactly the act you'd committed in the same thread.

Humor is often in the eye of the beholder however & I apologize if you took my response as a personal attack, no offense meant on my part & best of luck to you.

I tried posting his in the iPhone help forum, but not much response.

Are you using your iPhone connected via BT with your vehicle?

Did I read correctly that the BT in the iPhone only works with a "headset" (and not a car)? Does that mean I cannot use the iPhone with the built-in-vehicle BT?

I have a 2006 Land Rover LR3 that previously connected with my Palm Treo650 and is currently working with my wife's Motorola Razr but I cannot get it to connect to the iphone.

Even watching the Land Rover LR3 Bluetooth Paring video guide did not help.

Thanks!

So we have an '06 LR3 as well, and two iPhones. It pairs... but there are issues. If we switch use of the car (and that means we're switching the paired iPhone), connecting doesn't happen automatically. In other words, if I was driving the car with my iPhone paired, and then my wife takes it with her iPhone, her phone doesn't connect even though it shows as paired!

Here's one fix I've figured out; it's a pain, but at least the phone connects:

Go to the BT menu and unpair the iPhone
Then re-select the Land Rover button
Re-enter the pairing code

It should now connect. Sometimes, it freaks out and though paired says "No Service" which is incorrect. In these cases, I have to go through a bigger reset of turning off the car, the phone, and re-doing the BT pairing steps listed above.

If I determine a refinement to this, I'll update the process.

For the most part, the RR is a BMW.

iPhone works in my BMW 05 M3, although it gets choppy intermittently - something my previous Blackberry Pearl did not.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with my iPhone or with the design itself. I replaced my iPhone after 2 days bc of a creak in the case and I don't seem to remember the first one getting choppy like my existing one. Im hesitant to do another return bc I'm not even sure if the phone is the problem and I dont think the local Apple store will be so accommodating this time.

Cheers.

Try turning your wifi OFF on the iphone while in your BMW. For some inexplicable reason I get tremendous intermittent break-up while connected via BT in my 2004 BMW 545i unless I turn off wifi. PITA yes but doable.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I read about this a week ago or so and it definitely solves the problems in BMWs. I submitted a note to apple on their 'let us know how you like the iphone' page asking them to fix the problem. Hopefully this is something they can address with a firmware upgrade (or downgrade??) some time in the future. Turning wi-fi on and off all day is, like you said, a bit of a PITA.

Thanks again.

LR3 iPhone Problems

Hello all:
I recently purchased a 2006 LR3. It has the phone button on the stereo/cd console, but doesn't have the red and green phone buttons on the steering wheel. My iPhone won't connect to the LR3 as the video instructs. It searches and searches and times out after several minutes of not finding a bluetooth source. How do I find out for sure if my LR3 is bluetooth capable? If not, can it be added? Thanks - Mario

Well since so many people here drive land rovers i have a 95 Range Rover and it doesnt work in mine (prolly since it doesnt have the technology tho:D)

I have iPhone connected to viseeousa tune2air in my Land Rover, it works perfectly fine. I can stream music via bluetooth without any issues. I use the 1000 model by the way.

Dude it's been 10 years, I don't think he has this issue anymore.
