My 650i Daily Driver

2012BMW6.png

I had a 2007 335i for 3 years and changed to an infiniti G37X last year. The infiniti is great but I really miss BMW I dont know what it is but something about that car was awesome and there is nothing else like it..... Anyways I am waiting for the 2012 M3 so I can go back.

My friend did the same thing, going from a 545 to a infiniti, he says the drive is just not the same.

Very nice. A bit too cushy for me though;)

^ Sweet car ;)

2006 M3 here. Love everything about it.

Snazzy silver. Nice:D

2007 Z-4 M Roadster. Only had 6K miles on it when I bought it!

Since I can't love an inanimate object, I just REALLY, REALLY like it.

Only downside - it never met a gas station it didn't want to visit. Not a green car.

Goes like a bat out of hell. Thank god for racing school and radar detectors.:D

2003 540i Sport
6-speed manual

It's the last year of the greatest 5-series sedan, the E39. I have owned it seven years and hopefully I'll own it long enough to be buried in it.

I very much agree. The E39 body is hot.

I really honestly despise the new models out- have you folks seen the front end on the 5's and 7's? There is no bumper, the entire front end is flush.

Good lord, 5mph bump and about 5k.

I traded my '04 330i in on a "boring" SUV a couple months ago. I keep my cars about 4 years max before I get bored. BMW's are nice but I wouldn't buy another one unless it was new or certified pre-owned so I don't have to worry about repairs. If I was making investment banker money I'd get a V8 M3.

BMW. Joy of Driving to some. Racist panzers to others.

Why? Do you have a car, if so what make?
I have 2 - Acura and Mazda. Prefer Japanese. But I would consider anything except German.

Synchromesh just convinced me.... to go ahead and buy that new 550i I've been looking at.

Thanks bud!

I had a 2001 E38 BMW 740i and was replaced a few months back for a BMW 2003 E46 320D Tourer.:D

God i miss the 740!

Love BMW's and won't be buying any other manufacturer for a while.

My experience is that BMW's are very reliable ( I have owned several). As far as being a "d-bag" and a "poser" (poseur) - well, that's for you to decide about me.

Four BMWs in the garage, two bikes, two cars.

I love riding and driving BMWs but hate the stigma. Too many people think you are a status seeking jerk.

I test drove a '03 z4 2.5i yesterday and I'm seriously thinking about getting a 3.0i or 3.0si... should I? Any reliability concerns I should know about?

I owned a Z4 roadster in the past; does that count ? Pure fun and "Freude am Fahren":

On that time I was living in Germany with some area on the Autobahn without speed limit. Nice to drive 220 km/h open ... I guess thats why I have less hair now.

Had a few, and still have two...

x '95 M3 white/dove
x '87 535is red/tan 5 speed. Miss this one - never should have sold it.
'91 M3 still in the garage under a cover. 86k miles. Red/tan.
x '04 330i Perf Pkg silver - great car
x '06 330i Sport - solid, reliable car
x '87 325is track car with 300k miles on the clock, roll cage, etc.
x '03 540iT MSport - bought/sold within a month - long story, great wagon
'10 335i MSport - is there such a thing as too much power?

I have an 2004 E46 325i sedan that I picked up in 07 as a CPO. Being my first BMW, I really enjoy the car especially after putting the Dinan suspension on. My only regret was that I didn't get the 330i coupe. And I'm glad that I got the CPO since that was worth it.

I'm looking at the 2011 E92 335i or 335D because I don't want to mess with the N54 engine. I'm really waiting for the F30 to see what that looks like next year. The latest Z4 is quite tempting as well and the M3 if I can justify the price.

i had a BMW 535i from 1980 (quiet rare find in 2001 with 20000km on the clock only 1 previous owner who was in his 70's ) for exact 3 hours , was a nice car to drive , cost a **** fortune ..after i picked it up from the dealer drove home parked it up in front of my house , went inside , sat down to sort in the paperwork and heard a loud noise looked outside my bedroom window (facing the street) and could not see my lovely car any more, instead on the exact same spot i had parked my car a couple minutes earlier was a Scania lorry oddly parked up leaning a bit to its left side , the driver had lost control and crushed my first and last BMW :(

The way I look at it, if you own, it's cool, but if you lease, you are a poser.

Ha, I own my BMW, but to say leasing makes you a poser isnt really true.

I know wealthy people who lease just because it means an easy new car every two or three years. By leasing you're still paying a lot to make up for the big depreciation with BMWs too so its not cheap.

But did you see that movie with Busta Rhymes, Finding Forrester? The kid rips on a douche whos talking about his BMW by commenting about how the guy must know that, given how he leases his BMW and all...

Yeah.

I lease a 2011 and I am no poser. I love the drive of the car and its style. I also get to write off most of my lease as well as my mileage with free tire and wheel and maintenance taken care of. And I get a new car every 3 years.

Who's posing now?
