Just don't get a nail with those run flats. Can't repair them and unless you have tire and wheel they are hella expensive to replace.

Not totally true - but the nail needs to be away from the sidewall IIRC and you have to find an RFT-repair capable shop.

Baby got a bath, got to keep her tip top.

Ok so no run flat it is. But, I definitely want those xenon headlights mainly because I suck at driving during night time.

2003 M3 owner reporting in! Since there have been a few E46 M3's posted here, we know what it looks like. But I bet no one has my seats :p.

I've been a long time fan of the e46, and wow.

I've never seen blue seats. Custom job?

No worse than my M Roadster.

No spare tire, just a can of sealant. And if you use it, it ruins the tire anyway.:(

I just make sure that I never get a flat unless I'm near a garage. ;)

It takes A LOT of planning.

You pay for your kicks...

The run flats are convenient to have if you don't leave town very often. I would rather drive my car to the shop than have to change the tire on the side of the road. They can be a major headache if you get a flat out of town, though.

The run flats seem to have more tire issues than regular tires. Not sure if there is a giant magnet that attracts every nail and screw ;) or if they are just really soft. But I have had more issues with getting nails and screws in run flats than I ever did with regular tires. I got the tire warranty this time around and have already used it (less than two months with the car).

I have a leased, automatic, 328 convertible...I am happy with my poser status (I even decided on the convertible over the more powerful engine* ) since I got the car I wanted rather than worrying about someone else's rules.:p

I have had 4 BMWs and this is the first one I have had with iDrive. I love it!

*I should note that I do miss the power of my last car..135i convertible. But, I wanted a break from all the people that wanted to race it.

05 X5 6 cylinder. Got it for frequent 800 mile trips. Precise steering, big firm brakes, great handling, 23 mpg at the California Freeway Average Speed of 75-80. Comfortable for me with the standard suspension that is perfect in my opinion. The grandkids are safe in their little seats. At 80,000 it is like new in every detail. Nothing has failed or faded or gotten sloppy.

Terrible cup holders. Also the speakers sucked, so I put in a subwoofer, amp and all new speakers. Much, much better. Hooked up the old iPhone that is now only an iPod via a Tuneflex. Nice music combo.

I also travel with a Garmin GPS as the original is beyond bad. Jeez, just sub out this sort of thing to the Japanese or Americans...

The bluetooth works well.

I also installed a back-up camera as every SUV should have one by law!!!!!

One good way to buy a BMW is to get one of their certified used cars. I saved almost half the original cost and got a car that has a long warranty and is as good as new.

I had a red E30 320i. Best car I have owned, which sadly screwed up and left me driving a 1.2 litre renault for the last 7 years... Current living arrangements don't allow for the purchase of a nice car currently, but should be moving house in 6 weeks and have the cash available to buy a 320d. Am mulling over currently. In fact, I think I'm going to the bmw website now for a letch! damn.

I actually just recently purchased an Alpine White e92. Love it.
Slowly making some upgrades here and there.

I'm not really a big BMW fan, but if I had the money I would honestly consider buying an e92 *drool*

I would have to agree. Looks like cheap faux leather school bus seats.

That looks horrible.

I understand, it's not for everyone. A lot of old farts don't like it, but I got it when I was 16 and I'm 21 now, and kids my age think it's pretty nice. I really love it, personally- it makes it stand out from the sea of other 3 series' out there. I get a lot of comments in the summer when I drive with the windows down, people tend to like it in real life, but everyone on the internet hates it. It's weird.

Nope. OEM. Laguna Seca Blue Nappa (extended) was the name of the package.

Thanks for posting the additional picture. I have to say, I love your seats (and your car, for that matter- insanely jealous). How much would you say it costs a year to maintain your M3? (Oil change, tires, other maintenance, etc.).

Thanks!

It adds up. Valve adjustments are the killer.

...
What you'll find is that the M3 is pretty robust, believe it or not. Most people I know have never had anything break on their M3, since the engine is built to a higher quality, as well as the drivetrain and suspension. I'd say the average cost of owning one during a year would average out to be about $300. Not bad at all for car this fun!

You've been lucky then since my friend's 03 e46 M3 has had a number of issues with less than 50k miles on it. His recent one is the thermostat.

My 04 325i has close to $20k USD in repair work done to it in the past 4 years. I'm lucky that most of it was under warranty, but I am out now. My expansion tank just cracked, my power steering fluid tank and hose were leaking. I just spent $900 to fix all that last week. I also have a oil pan gasket leak which will cost me about $900 to replace in the near future.

Wow! I have a friend with an '02 M3 Vert and he has 160,000 km and nothing has ever broke. Seriously, just regular maintenance with belts and what not. Most owners forums will confirm this. My M3 has ~70,000 KM on it and nothing has ever gone wrong either, must be some spotty luck working for you :(.
