In order:

Connery
Pierce
Craig

The local IMAX theater here had showings all day today. Missed the 4:00 I was going to see. I'll probably catch it tomorrow if I can sneak out of work early enough (i.e. before the kids get out of school).

Watched this a few nights ago - thought it was rather good! Much better than the first two "new Bond" films.

That middle bit where they're running about London was so gripping! A shame it drops off a bit before the last fight.

Definitely one to pick up on Bluray!

Brosnan>Craig? Madness...

Anyway, Skyfall is great, almost erasing the memory of the shambles that was Quantum of Solace.

Loved It. I especially loved the epilogue.

Epilogue? Wait, is there something after the credits? My wife and I saw it Friday night and we really enjoyed the movie. We didn't stay after the credits though. Nevermind, I understand that you are talking about how the movie ended and not something after the ending.

Yes, I'm talking about the the last few scenes, after the main plot had concluded.

So are we allowed to discuss the movie posting spoilers or should we open a new thread?
I renamed this thread to Bond 23: Skyfall [Warning: Spoilers] so people are forewarned. Go ahead if you want to post spoilers. To be most polite, post your spoilers using a white color tag, as in this example:

Example of what you type:

I had a favorite scene. Highlight to see spoiler: When Q gives Bond an exploding MacBook Pro!

Thanks! While a fan of Craig's Bond (specially Casino Royalle), I am not fully satisfied by what I saw. The best part of the movie for me was the humour. British humour at its finest and in the proper amount. If there was more it would be a comedy. Bond's clothing should be the fashion example for the next 5 years. Now for the spoilers (Highlight to see spoiler)

I think that this is the first movie that there was so much usage of the word "bloody". Generally this movie was heavily oriented towards Great Britain. The bulldog accessory, Bond's declare of love to his country. Although not British I liked this change. I also liked as per previous movies the raw representation of Bond, He is brutal, he is rough, he is getting old, he is almost an alcoholic and he gets injured. He is in fact fragile as proved by the tests he takes and the tears he sheds for M.

I did not like the super hi tech computers and hacking. This is contradictory to the old fashioned Bond approach. The first is too fake, the second is as realistic as it can get. First impression of arch villain Bardem was not good either (probably I am one of the very few who did not like Bardem in the island). I guess the blond hair color was too much for me. After he was returned to England though, I did not care much about this as he unveiled his true motives and became the bad guy.

Now for a game. Let's see which products placed we noticed. Here I go (again spoilers)

 • Sony (like previous movies)
 • Adidas
 • The scotch which I can't remember. Although it was also mentioned so I don't consider that product placement

Skyfall = 007: Home Alone

Heh, I noticed that too!

It also seemed to have a vibe about it which one Internet reviewer described as "Harry Potter levels of pathos" which I think I agree with. Some of the scenes did remind me of the later Potter movies, especially given the similar-looking locales.

Sean Connery passed the torch to Roger Moore, who donned the Walther PPK in his first Bond film, "Live and Let Die" in 1973. Roger Moore became the quintessential James Bond for a new generation.

With 7 movies, Moore currently holds the record for playing James Bond the most times in the official EON series. (He would be tied for 1st place with Sean Connery if Never Say Never Again was counted as official).

Bypassing entirely the simple resolution which would have been a helo with air to surface missiles instead of a large caliber gun, I will simply list my biggest peeve of the film: Bond usually ends up with the nemesis' girl after turning her allegiance. In this one, she either dies early or turns into Moneypenny depending on which one is supposed to be The Bond girl.

Don't forget that during the multihour drive from London to Scotland they didn't once stop at a gun store or weapon cache.

Spoiler question highlight to see.

Will M (judi dench) come back to the new movies or is she done for good?

Highlight.
Judging by the end, I think not. Fiennes is the new M. Also according to wikipedia (not trustworthy to many): "Dench made her seventh and final appearance as M in twenty-third James Bond film, Skyfall (2012), directed by Sam Mendes." She is 77 by the way although she doesn't look that old

Highlight to see.

She looks very good for her age... it's sad to see her leave as she played the character so well.

I could've sworn that Kincade called M "Emma" at one point (which would explain the "I always thought M was a randomly assigned initial, I had no idea it stood for..." in Casino Royale). Did anyone else hear it too?

I caught that too, but I don't think that they had met before. I sort of just attributed that to him being old and thinking Bond called her Emma.

I liked this a lot! The plot was much (I mean much, much...) better than the one in Quantum of Solace which disgraced the whole Bond saga. The mood of Skyfall reminded me of Dark Knight.

But on the other hand I still think that Casino Royale was a little bit better. ;)

Her best performance was in Casino Royale imho. I will miss her and I think that she raised the stakes. Next M (plural) will be compared to her.

I agree.
