I loved Casino Royal and Quantum. After seeing this yesterday, my advice is wait for rental... The premise and chase scene at the beginning of the movie was just outstanding. From that high, the movie slides down, down.

I know this is a week late, but I thought that the movie was superb and it went back to an almost classic Bond Formula. Loved Ben Whishaw as Q, not as good as good ol' Desmond (may he RIP) but in my eyes, way better than John Cleese.

Also Ralph Fiennes' in future installments as M will almost seem like a throwback to Bernard Lee as M.

Judi Dench, Craig, and Javier Bardeem were the three best in this film though. Especially since we have never seen Judi Dench play a fearful M so great since TWINE. She always seems to be at her best when M in the script is in some sort of danger.

I liked the depth and sympathy she gave to her character, yes. But yes, in this movie she definitely seemed much more vulnerable. Probably not the least because of Judi Dench starting to look her age (don't get me wrong, I'm so impressed that she's still doing all that, but she is getting on in years...)

I would have liked it if, in the scene where she picks up the gun and shoots, if it would have turned out she was an excellent marksman. Would have been a fun surprise.

I could've sworn that Kincade called M "Emma" at one point (which would explain the "I always thought M was a randomly assigned initial, I had no idea it stood for..." in Casino Royale). Did anyone else hear it too?
Bond introduces Kincaid, then addresses M as "M". Kincaid hears that as "Emma" and subsequently calls her Emma. Bond never says "Emma".

An outstanding movie. It's a little different from a traditional Bond movie but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
