It actually is a case problem. The case is covering up the proximity center that turns the screen off when you put the phone to your ear. I'm having the same problem. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just certain cases?
Does yours look like the picture I posted two posts above? My proximity sensor is clearly unobstructed. What does yours look like?

I just got one yesterday and I already love it. It's a conversation starter, it reduces the amount of things I have to carry with me, and it does a good job of protecting your phone too. All you need is a screen protector and there's almost no reason why your phone shouldn't be in pristine condition for the foreseeable future. I will admit though, having my debit cards and cash right there and readily available seems a bit odd, but I'm over it.

Yeah, I think I just have to keep pushing it down to make sure the proximity center isn't covered. I'll keep working on it!

I almost bought this case but ended up going with the HEX Wallet. Basically the same thing but all black leather and real simple looking. Plus it was $10 cheaper.
The the HEX doesn't hold up will definitely be looking at this BookBook case.

Mine is due to be delivered today, can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on it.

I wonder, has anyone tried modifying it to create their own 'camerahole' version?

There's a few photos of modified ones in this thread.....just got back a few pages.

Please help, I need to know if the proximity center is covered on this case I found called book style

You should create another thread then, this is totally different from the bookbook so no one with a bookbook is going to be able to tell you anything you can't see yourself from the picture. The odds of someone with that case reading 9 pages in on a similar case seem pretty low...

Book Book

Trying to decide if this will work for me or not. Love the design.

I'd get this case if they included a hole for the camera lens.

How many cards are you able to store in it?

I have had mine for 2 days and I love the case look and feel. My problem is practical daily use. I tried it out with my ID and 2 cards... it actually became a bit more bulky. I like the look of this case but I don't know if I am going to keep it. I have talked on the phone in my left hand with no issues. In the right had, well the flap gets in my way.

The design is what caught my eye and the simplicity of only carrying what is needed is great but I am not sure its going to work out for me. I have a Zag Leather skin on my iphone4s and sliding in and out is not very easy. The invisible shield on the front sometimes sticks to the plastic ID holder. These small annoyances might break this relationship up.

I will try it out a few more days before I decide to return it or not.

I've had mine for a few weeks and still love it. I have a Power Support Crystal front and back installed, sliding it up to take a picture is a breeze. I also have 3 cards in it which caused an outline on the leather but nothing that bad. All around, this makes a simple solution for me and I never forget my wallet/phone anymore. I even sold my Dosh Felix wallet since getting the BookBook.

For me this is the biggest disappointment. Its not a breeze, because you have to pull the tab first them slide...but the real issue is your screen is not partially hidden by the leather, so taking a photo is a pain.

I really like the idea of the case, but it takes away the one handed operation of the iPhone that I love so much. Operating the phone, surfing, twitter, etc are now really a two handed operation.

I can never understand the appeal of the bookbooks for both the iphone and macs... I'm I not seeing something?

I like having my wallet and phone together. It's wonderfully convenient when I'm going somewhere that is "purse prohibitive." I need only worry about my phone and perhaps a set of keys, both of which will easily fit in my guy's pockets if I need hands free. Besides being convenient, it's also pretty damn nice looking.

I tired this case out for less than a week but just couldn't get use to it. I guess I may have not given it much time but when you know something isn't going to work out and you try to make it work... well... Insanity ensues. This case is very nice to look but that can't be all its about. I am new to the iPhone 4s and siri did help make this case easier to use but in the end its just a bit to bulky with all my stuff in it. The constant sliding in an out for camera use is a burden . I put my phone in my front pocket and with this case and is a bit uncomfortable unless I am wearing really lose pants or shorts.

I really wanted this case to work out but I know it won't so I am returning it back to twelve south for a refund. Maybe sometime in the future a picture hole that doesn't look awkward will be added and make it more useful for my needs.

I don't use my bookbook case around the house or when I plan on taking a lot of pictures. It's mostly something I use when we are going out to dinner with friends or maybe to the movies. The thing that has taken the most getting used to for me, is trying to find a comfortable way to carry it, since I used to carry my iphone in the little pocket on my carpenter jeans, but with the bookbook case on it's too big to fit in that pocket.

With cold weather on the way though, it should solve my problem since when I wear a coat I always carry my phone in the inside pocket of my coat.
