I just installed a 7200 RPM HD in my Macbook and my boot time went from 45+ sec to 22.3 flat. The RPM increase helped out, I guess my 4gb of ram helped too, but it didnt seem to help my old slower HD. Try a new HD OP

Hi, dumb question, how do I know if my drive is SDD:D ?, it's name is Macintosh HD now .....
my boot is around 2 minute, I have ~80GB/320GB free store.
But I remember at first time I purchase my MBP, boot time is not that long.... What have I doneeeee?

If you don't know, then you don't have a SSD.

^ This. You'd definitely know if you paid for it. It's not a cheap option. Check your order details.

I have the 512GB Apple SSD in my late 2011 MBP with the 2.5GHz i7 and 8GB RAM, and boot in a hair under 16 seconds from when I push the button.

Seems really fast, quicker than 16 seconds, but I'm going to assume my iPhone isn't lying!
