Yeah, ignore the formatting comments - bootcamp assistant formats the USB stick for you anyway - no need to worry about what format it's in before you plug it in.

Yesterday I installed Windows 7 on my rMBP running ML. I used a friends laptop with a disc drive to copy the ISO files onto my USB flash drive. Here is the guide I used:

http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-20020513-285/install-win-7-on-macbook-air-from-a-usb-drive/

Not sure if this is still relevant to the OP or anyone else, now. I did reformat my USB drive before I copied the ISO files onto it. It's all explained in that guide which is pretty straightforward.

I skipped the installing rEFIt step. Holding down option while booting up still allowed me to choose which partition to boot from.

Great now I cant download the windows drivers, keeps giving me a network problem encountered error.

Damm wifi at hotels. I will try again tomorrow.
Appears its an issue on apples side, as the wifi seems to be working fine on all other websites i try.

It's possible that the hotel's firewall is blocking it. Sometimes hotels limit the kind of traffic you can send and receive (e.g. http only so you can use their connection to browse the web but nothing else). It's possible that the bootcamp assistant tool might be opening an ftp connection or using a non-standard port to download the drivers and the firewall doesn't allow this. This is pure speculation, but a possibility. I did a bootcamp installation on an mbp only yesterday and it was working fine at the time. Of course it could also be a server problem at Apple's end. Try it again when you get home or at the office.

Well went to a starbucks, got the same error "cant download windows support software because of network problems"

Guess its an issue on apple's side.

Im able to create the bootable usb drive now with the new iso file i downloaded. No more errors stating it couldnt copy the files to the usb drive.

I will try later in the week. I know apple's network always has issues, i always run into issues with itunes match, and then i wait a few days and it starts working again.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the release of os6 coming up soon, i'm sure everyone in the world will be trying to download that and I think it becomes available tomorrow if I am not mistaken.

So kind of stuck for now.
