I agree on that except for ANR headphones.
Please show me something better that:
-has such a good noise reduction
-bluetooth
-still with option to use cable

I bought a parrot zik 3 and it is good but the battery is too light and the noise reduction isn't bose level

Couldn't agree more with the ANR. Bose has mastered that, and while not the best sounding in the price range, nothing competes with it's ANR. As a frequent traveler, couldn't imagine being without them.

I'm really excited to try these! I sold my Beats Studio Wireless because they would become uncomfortable in under an hour.

In general, it's fun to see the Bose vs. non-Bose arguments, like we're all built the same way.

For a follow up, let's do:
Mac vs PC
iPad vs Surface
Metric vs Imperial (there's already a thread on this one)
Ford vs Chevy
Country vs Rock n Roll vs Rap vs Pop

Non-Bose
Mac
iPad
Metric
Jaguar
Indie/Folk

Has anyone tried these with OS X El Capitan? Last set of wireless I had from Bose would stutter when connected to my MBP.

They have a great marketing team that has convinced people to buy subpar speakers for ridiculous prices.

Their internal motto is better sound through marketing.

"Sounds" like apple in terms of marketing....

I have had some QC20s for the last year, very impressed with the noise canceling and as a very frequent traveller i wouldnt be without them. Totally replaced my PXC450 over ears.

Correct, comparing the QC25 to the Momentum 2.0 wireless the sound quality is slightly better on the Sennheiser's.... But noise cancelling is far better on the QC25

I currently own both and have owned 4 different Sennheiser active noise cancelling headphones over the last 10 years and they have never come close to the Bose sets as far as noise cancelling I have also tried the QC3 and owned QC15... The Sennheiser's still have a hiss to them that I do not like at all.

i am not expecting any different results from the QC35's

Hissing with Sennheiser? Can't see how audio quality would be better.

I bought Bose earbuds for premium noise cancellation. No marketing involved, just recommendations from another in a similar predicament. The sound quality was a secondary consideration but they are good, perhaps not exceptional - I'm no expert.

I just saw PcMag Review: http://www.pcmag.com/review/345068/bose-quietcomfort-35

What does this mean for "Con": "Cable has no inline remote control. DSP has a major impact on the sound signature in terms of EQ sculpting and dynamics."

DSP is supposed to have a major impact on the sound signature to make things sound better right? How is this a con?

I just checked. The cable from the QC25 works on the QC35 and includes a mic and controls.

The controls are now on the ear cup
Instead on the cord... sonitbis different.. Would not personally say it is a "con"

You are right the DSP is supposed to impact the sound as far as dynamic EQ and noise reduction.... I guess this would be a 'con" if someone was looking for flat response monitoring headphones... But these are not targeted at people who want flat response headphones.

It is a background hiss from the ANC... The other Sennheisers I have owned in the past have done this when you switch on the ANC... On the momentum 2.0 you cannot switch off then ANC and listen via Bluetooth, same as the Bose.

In honesty the Hiss in the Sennheisers is not really an issue in a noisy environment as volume of music masks the hiss, but if you are using them at home at lower volumes I really notice it between tracks, in quiet sections or on phone calls.

It also means you cannot really use them just to mask background noise.. Sounds odd but I do do this on flights. I keep the noise cancellation on when not listening to anything just to relax... I would find the Sennheisers too annoying to do this.

Anyone read the BT5 impending announcement? There seem to be a lot of people saying "audio is going to be so much better! etc. etc." Does this mean that the QC35 will not sound as good as if I waited until BT5 was incorporated into the QC35? Or is there likely not going to be any difference?

Remember both devices have to implement BT 5.0 and not just the headphones. Whether or not a firmware update can implement 5.0 on current hardware is not yet known.

I would be incredibly surprised if a firmware upgrade could add support for a new protocol like Bluetooth 5.0

Even if it were announced today, it would take a long time to see it getting implemented into mainstream devices.

To make a real world difference you would have to have BT5 on the headphones, on the iPhone (or whatever) then you would have to have to increase the quality of the media ... I doubt you would notice the difference on existing 256 - 320 Kbps but rate... And there are not (m)any mainstream streaming providers that stream in lossless.

Even if they started the size of the files would be very big for mobile / cellular speeds.

I think it will happen, but I would not worry about it at the moment.

Kinda like buying a 4K TV as soon as they came out.... No media

I was so ready to go out and pick up by QC35s today...... until this Bluetooth 5.0 announcement that's holding me back since it looks like it will have impact on audio quality... I don't want to spend $$$ in a few months down the road just to upgrade to the 5.0...

It will be more than months

I think you shouldn't worry about it, else you will never buy :p
There is already APT-X out there but neither iphone nor Bose support it.
Plus Bose has been quite long to get this QC35 (ANR+BT) out so I wouldn't expect anything else to come out soon.
And maybe if some day they release it we will start hearing about BT6 ;)

The only thing is maybe you could find earlier a new non-Bose headset someday using BT5 but then will your iphone support BT5? and still as it wouldn't be a Bose the noise reduction would probably be less efficient anyway

I've always thought that QC15 sounded great (wired), and based on reviews, QC35 looks to be on par if not better... but is there really a noticeable difference over bluetooth? I just can't imagine Bose charging 50 dollars extra for a cordless bluetooth wireless headset that doesn't sound as good as their wired...

Without APT-X from what I understand you cannot get the same audio quality as wired.
Now I have a BT Headphones and I am totallys atisfied with it and I'm using it only over BT

There won't be an upgraded version of the QC35s unless it is via firmware, but you can still use an adaptor to get BT5. For me it just shows poor timing from Bose but it also makes me even happier that I went with the QC25 and external BT option. I will upgrade my BT adaptor in due course.
