Bose are great headphones but i'm getting the beats solo3 to go with my air pods. That W1 chip is a big reason why.

Got these for Christmas, sound is amazing and NC is out of this world. Only issue is that im finding the bluetooth range to be poor. Getting lots of drop outs just from walking down the street and having my iPhone 7+ in the left pocket. Checked reddit and some other forums and this seems to be quite common.

Anyway else having issues with BT range?

Make sure you have updated the firmware via the Bose Connect App. My set got better with the latest firmware.

I had similar issues when I got mine, firmware upgrade worked for me. Haven't experienced any further dropouts.

ahh, I wish I would have seen this earlier. As someone who has owned both the QC35 and the Sony MDR-1000, the Sony's not only sound better, but have some really nice gesture features. They are Bose killers right now.

I agree with this, but if you need the noise cancelling feature the Sony's are the way to go.

I returned the qc35, maybe I will look at the Sony.

Meanwhile, try these. They are unbelievable for the price.

Amazon probably has them in stock.

It is one reason I returned the qc35, believe me with the Philips one is 90% there and I am not kidding.

I agree too, the B&W P7 are the best sounding, but Sony MDR-1000X are the best for noise cancellation.

Trying the Sony now, wish I hadn't though. Damn their cost but what the hell as you only live once. :)

Gotta remember that large headphones completely cover two holes on our head. :)

I tried demo of QC35 in store and after a few mins of listening the pairing went off on my iPhone and could not get any sound... maybe was issue with the demo units. But besides that, noise cancelling earphones have always made my head feel pressurized when wearing them - not sure if I am imagining this or not... but it feels uncomfortable to me... anyone else experience this?

The QC35 do indeed have that pressure on your ears as if you are going through a tunnel on a train. The Sony don't have it anywhere near as bad, actually, I didn't notice it at all while auditioning them.

I had a pair for around 3 months but sold them and bought the QC30 instead.
Had a real issue with tunnels on trains - very, very unpleasant effect on the ears. In addition any prolonged periods of use (say 1 hr or more) and I started to feel a little nauseous.
Can't fault their noise cancellation qualities but it comes at a cost, in addition you've got the sheer bulk to contend with - looked massive on my head to be honest !

I’ve found that the best headphones for sleep aren’t necessarily those which are marketed as such. Having said that, there are one or two fabric types which are comfortable to use in bed, even if they might not win any aesthetics awards.

In many reviews, I’ll be looking at the headphones I’ve found which provide the best balance between comfort, sound quality, practicality and blocking external noise.

Went back and forth and settled on the Sony WH-1000XM2. Why? Most reviews agree they have better sound. That was my number one requirement. The noise canceling is on par with Bose and they also look like something worth the price.

Feature wise, the gesture based controls for volume and track changes on the right earpiece and ability to quickly cancel the noise suppression by cupping the right ear is invaluable when on a plane and being interrupted by the flight attendant or travel companion. Also the have a more robust app for tuning the earphones and a setting that will gauge the amount to noise suppression to use based on environment (in a subway and walk to to street will change the dynamics of nice suppression). All of these are controllable by the app.

Bose may be a "safe" choice, but I found the Sony's an excellent choice which has all of what the 35C has, plus more (except Google Assistant which I do not use and can use Siri from Sony's). (The M2 are the latest model).

Did Sony fix the headbands?
The band on v1 cracking (all over the longer term reviews) was a total non-starter to me on something so expensive.

Not sure if was addressed on the M2, but I have had zero issues with the headbands. I di not have an older pair to compare to the newer M2, but I d o not have nor see the issue on mine.

No sign of any problem at all.

How long you had them?
Seems like it took 8-10 months for it to show up on most units based upon Amazon reviews.

(has v2 been out that long?)

I'm sort of curious if the design changed at all? (the band design)

Any updates on the P7 after all this time? I hear the PX are out. I don’t need NC as I don’t fly. Typically a good closed back headphone cancels enough for me. I have the AirPods as a Christmas gift but being within the return policy I may want to trade them in for something better sounding to use for 50 hour a week commute and work schedule. The headband issue of the 1000xm1 have me Leary of the WH1000xm2. If it’s confirmed they’ve fixed it then I’d pick that set no question.
