All I can say about the Bose soundsport is they seem a bit flimsy to me. And where the control buttons are placed I find it hard to reach. That's me.... AirPods are fine and convenient. The Bose sound a bit better because of the way they sit in the ear.

If the SoundSport feels flimsy to you, can you give an example of a earphone that doesn't seem flimsy to you? I'm just trying to get a sense of where you are coming from, because to me, the SoundSport seems sturdier than most other earphones I've used.

Sure.... I think the older Bose QC20i felt more sturdy when I had them. Also, the Jaybirds have less of a footprint(earprint?) and their controller was better placed for my use. But the SoundSports do sound good for their size.

Hard to reach is better than no controls at all. Siri not really a very good option.

Huh. Interesting. I haven't used the QC20, but I've used many of Bose's other wired earphones, and I think the SoundSport feels a lot sturdier. The cord on the SoundSport is a lot thicker and doesn't tangle at all. I also don't have a problem with the placement of the control buttons. Of course, it's all personal preference.

Pick a headphone, any headphone. Airpods coming in Feb.

I've tried the jaybirds x3 and the AirPods and I like the Bose soundsport wireless the best. I really like the sound quality, the comfort and having a remote to control the music. The AirPods were great having no wires at all but I really missed having a remote and had trouble with the charging case holding a charge. The jaybirds just weren't as comfortable at the Bose. I'm curious to see how the beats x compare to all these when they are released

I currently own the BOSE SoundSport Wireless and the AirPods (and a bunch of other headphones). I much prefer the BOSE - sound wise, comfort wise etc. The AirPods place in and out of my ears quicker, so are a better option for I need to take them in/out frequently, but that is about the only positive for me. The only negative for me on the BOSE is the fact they 'stick out' - the AirPods look better. I've also had the JayBirds X2 and X3 and did not like either - I just could not get them to sit comfortably in my ear.

I have both the Bose and AirPods as well. Much prefer the AirPods, because of the wireless nature. I'm no audiophile so the AirPods sound fine to me and fit/stay in my ears fine.

Just on that point, I think there is a massive difference between fitting in your ears to the point where the sound quality is optimal and just staying in your ears enough so they don't fall out..

No disagreement here. If you are looking for optimal sound then AirPods potentially not for you (depending on fit of course). My top priority is completely wireless (which the Airpods are) and the sound is perfectly fine for me, given they fit fine and don't fall out.

Does only using Siri to control your volume drive you crazy? That's the only thing making me want to get the soundsport vs AirPods

Decided to try these, kicking myself in the arse for not trying them sooner. :)

The Airpods just don't get driven optimally with my iPhone for what I listen to and don't go loud enough in some cases. I have been holding off selling them but I am comfortable enough now with the Bose to make them the winner and I truly feel they sound better and offer enough battery life for my usage. Oh and even with the jaybird x2s and PB2s I have, I prefer these Bose. They are so very comfortable too.

What are those red ones that go in the ear but have the part to hold them in place? How do those sound? I can't have just the earbuds as they fall out with my weird shaped ears and I can't use the full over the ear headsets because they cause painful pressure in my inner ear.

See, after seeing the great reviews of AirPods, I was reconsidering them.. but after your post I'm probably going to get the Bose now. I love the sound of them and always have, but everyone was raving about airpods at first so it steered me away for a bit.

Jaybird X2's. The wings are standard fare on the Jaybird line. Also on Bose.

If there is a better wireless earbud set better than these (especially for sound) for the buck I would like to be clued in.

I doubt the Beats X will top this one.

I'm listening to the Soundsports at work right now. I don't think there are any headphones inthe same class that sounds as good for the price. These are great.

I repurchased these yesterday after returning initially and I agree with the sentiment of others that these are simply excellent sounding buds. I've tried the B&O H5, Freedoms and am currently using the Jabra Elite Sport for workouts. These Bose blow them away in terms of sound quality, fit and comfort. Sound quality in particular is impressive. I originally returned these for the QC30 which CNET referred to as a "noise cancelling version of the Soundsport" but I was not impressed with the QC30. The sound profile is different on the QC30 and I much prefer the Soundsports. I agree with AppleRobert that these are the best sounding BT buds on the market if you can accept the somewhat low max volume and open design neither of which bother me.

These beat the Airpods pretty badly, it isn't even that close. I have been at music listening for quite awhile with many many ear/headphones so I can easily judge.

Glad I decided to pick these up, I still might with the Beats X but beyond a miracle IMHO those will not match these for sound quality.

I encourage anyone to try them, obviously they are returnable but you will not do so for lack of sound quality.

I've had these for a while now - they only thing the AirPods have over the BOSE is the size, weight and 'look' of them. The BOSE win out for everything else.

If you manually raise the volume in the Bose connect app and then use normal iphone volume controls after that, the volume gets much louder.
