I was surprised to see it change

Mastershakess,

I think it's saying that you can upgrade at a discount. You will still have to pay something up front for a new phone. It won't be like a full upgrade, but it won't be the full amount of the phon either. It'll be something in the middle. Usually $100-200 cheaper than buying the phone outright, but definitely not the $99 (or whatever) down on a full upgrade.

mine lines moved back from April 2014 to Sept 2014...

Yep, same here - my updates moved from April 14, 2014 to September 14, 2014. And in the past, AT&T always let me update early, because we have a Family Plan with 5 lines.

That could be it, just confused me to see the pushed up date

or if you want to early upgrade, pay $250 on top of the subsidized price of the iPhone. For example, if the iPhone costs $199 with new 2 year agreement, you pay an extra $250, same goes for the $299/$399 price points

It would be best to just sell the iPhone 5 to recoup the cost of that $250

All my upgrades are exactly 2 years. And I have 7 lines on a premier account. I passed down my 4 to my dad last year so I'd have an upgrade available for this year. Not sure if I'm going to use it at this point or just tell him to get whatever the free iPhone is next week.

I'm confused, how did you get your date changed to Sept 2013 when your contract expires Sept 2014?

I was lucky in that I upgraded in February of 2012, and even though they changed the rules, my next upgrade was still August of this year. I have 1 line ready for an upgrade. My other line moved to 24 months - September of next year.

I got an iPhone5 on launch day and ATT says I can get a 5s for $199, $299 or $399, effective on Sept 15.

I didn't do anything, I just looked at my account and that's what it said under upgrade eligibility

What did they charge you for your iPhone 5?

$199

Are you getting a 5S?

Many of the AT&T corporate FAN discounts still offer early upgrades. Perhaps this is what some people are seeing.

Cheers,
