I “downgraded” from an X to an 8 mostly because of Face ID. The 8 is my favourite iPhone ever and I have no plans to “upgrade” to whatever is announced in September.

Indeed, I genuinely believe I have cured myself of Apple upgrade obsession. I have no plans to change any of my Apple devices. They are all excellent and any replacement products will be minimally better and not worth the cost of changing.
 
The back camera of my iPhone 8 plus is faulty. Hadn't tested it the first couple of days. Over the weekend, I wanted to take some pictures and the image was all blurry (front facing camera worked fine). Then it went dead completely (black display in the camera app).
Googled a bit and found out it might have been a third party app causing a conflict.
However, removing those apps didn't help. Even a factory reset didn't solve the problem.

So I'm sending it back today, they will send me a new one...

That’s unfortunate. Mine has been solid from the day one.
