Bought an iPhone, UPS still says:

i went through the same crap with someone on ebay. i paid through paypal at the very end of the auction, and i didn't get my phone until 2 and 1/2 almost 3 weeks later! it was horrible! the guy kept giving excuses like, "my wife is dropping it off before she goes to work." and "she said she dropped it off, i don't know why the tracking number isn't working." i wanted to strangle him!!

i kept hounding him until it arrived. i "threatened" them with negative feedback, calling important people (i can't remember who i threatened to call, but they were high up on the food chain. ha!), and filing a complaint with ebay. i messaged members who had bought from them before and they said the reason they got their package later was because the seller said their grandmother or someone passed away.

definitely message the other sellers (if they exist) and ask if they've had the same problems. be kind about it, and explain a bit about your situation.

Update: The guy finally responded and said that something happened where the UPS outlet forgot to charge him some fee, and they didnt call him. So the iphone is like 45 mins away and hes been there since friday. He paid off the dues today and the tracking number updated and said there was an exception and that I need to pick it up.... looks like it worked out and Ill be picking up my iPhone tomorrow!

Update 2: Well, I drove about 3 hours total today (traffic) in trying to get it.... they didnt even have it at the UPS place! I was so mad. They looked around for 30 minutes looking for it and it was nowhere. Why would they tell me its there with the tracking number when its not?

So I called afterward, and the lady said that it was on will call/had to be picked up because the sender asked for a signature to be taken for security. Then I asked if I could change it back to having them send it to my house so I dont have to waste a whole day again, and she said only the shipper can do that. So I emailed and called him, waiting for a response. This is such a huge annoyance, I cant believe UPS can suck this much.

Edit to add my own UPS horror story:
I ordered a high-end handheld scanner and it never arrived. It was shipped to require a signature. After jumping through the hoops and receiving a replacement, I eventually found the original one in the back of my truck when the snow melted.

UPS are the worse shipping company i've ever dealt with. Apparently, one of their employees stole my first iPhone, and I was delivered an empty box. Imagine the shock I got, when i opened the package i had been waiting for 3 weeks only to see an iPhone box with no iPhone in it.

I dont know what happened really, maybe it was lost or something, but the guy never contacted me after telling me to pick it up (despite me calling him and emailing, asking whats going on and why it wasnt there when I went), so I filed a claim with paypal and got my money back.

Sucker that I am, Ive gotten ripped off twice already and I just started trying to buy another one again...

I would be willing to bet the farm and more there never was an iPhone to be lost or shipped. It was just a common scam.
