Yep, when I type the phone number into the upgrade checker.

----------

You are paying it one way or another.

If I buy it subsidized I'll still be paying the carrier the same amount per month. So really, I'm spending less money subsidized because, either way, I'll still have their service.

And you are also locked into a contract for two years, AND your phone is locked. If that makes sense for you, great. For others who don't want to be tied down to a contract, and who want/need to be able to switch sims when traveling, contracts suck.

And if I sell the old phone, especially if it is unlocked, I won't be paying that much more than you, and I'll have an unlocked brand new phone.

Different strokes.

Corporate FANs will be allowed an early upgrade. The primary on a family plan will be allowed an early upgrade.

I'm a corporate FAN and receive a 25% discount monthly but as I mentioned earlier, they didn't budge with my date last year (every other year I was eligible). They did give me a $200 (or so) credit toward my bill, though.

Reminds me - when I got my iPhone 4, they gave me some line about not being able to waive the "Upgrade Fee" when I asked/insisted, but they did give me an equal discount on my case.

I have two lines. One, my 4S line, says that I'm eligible for an early upgrade now (2 year contract price + $250) or a full discount in May. The other line which is off contract (the iphone 4) says that I can get the full discount now, but says that "some services on the current device may be replaced with similar services on the new contract." Great. There goes my unlimited data.

Yeah, I think I'll just buy the phone outright.

Odd, I just tried that on my iphone 4 (That I still have unlimited on) and I didn't get that "some services on the current device..." message, just that I could upgrade with a 36 dollar upgrade fee.

You sure there isn't something else they are targetting you have?

The exact message:

(xxx) xxx-xxxx is eligible

Great news! You qualify for a discounted iPhone upgrade.

Some services on your current device may be replaced by similar iPhone services during upgrade.

I am gonna VERY PO'ed if i don't get a "new contract" price

I am the main number on a family plan with a corporate discount (24%).

I know "loyal customers" don't mean ***** anymore but ive been paying these people for over 15 years.
