Interesting comment regarding battery life (4 1/2 hours). I don't use mine for running, never for phone call, yes for heart rate and streaming for a few hours a day (from internal storage, I have a LTE watch but no plan) and I get approx 3 days battery life.

Surprised the running makes such a difference.. does it enhance the metrics gathering? or is it simply the calls? (Suspect so...).

Am not however wedded to the idea of 'watch only' for my services (yet). Watch alone for email/messaging etc. is ineffective and probably reflects my true MVP.
Streaming music for several hours over LTE (without phone) will use more battery. Add in the other things mentioned, and the battery will take a hit.

Edited to add: I am streaming over LTE right now.

Can you recommend some apps for sleep monitoring? I usually take it off before bed. Back when I had the series 1 I found it uncomfortable to wear while I sleep and couldn't really keep it on at night (I twist and turn a lot and there's dogs in bed with me) but I wanna try it again.

I really love Sleep Watch. It’s accurate and just like auto sleep you don’t have to log in when you are asleep (???) and when you woke up. It’s seamless. It also shows you the quality of sleep you’re getting and heart rate. Through this app and the activities app I found out I’m a bit of a sleep walker!!

I'm newly amazed at my watch by simply using it - for a few months I barely wore it or gave it a second look. But when I set up my iPhone X the prowess of the watch came into its own. I regularly get 2 to 3 days out of it's battery, less when streaming my playlists, of course, the ones playing from the watch and not the phone.

How the hell do you guys get more than a day out of the battery? I have to drop it in the cradle at the end of every day. To be fair, I do have LTE on all the time and I'm a spin instructor and a heavy texter/caller/music streamer/runner so I'm constantly using it, but I even on an off day I'll have to top it off with a quick charge

So I had a moment today and totally drove to apple on my lunch break and got the 42mm LTE nike watch - total impulse purchase. I hated the first ever watch and to this day it's the only Apple product I have ever returned. I gotta say, so far I am impressed and I'm glad they fixed almost every issue the initial watch had.
It's much more responsive and functional. I do wish some iteration of Touch ID was available instead of a passcode (I refuse to use one) but I understand that's tough to accomplish with so little space on a gadget.
I mainly want to be able to leave my phone behind at the gym and rely on this to use apple music. We'll see how that works, but so far I am really happy and doesn't seem like I'll be returning this one.
Got the Nike Watch too and love mine. Nice not needing my phone I must admit

Do like the Nike Watch faces compared to the non Nike models

I don't see how some of you are charging your watches to 100% in a matter of 5 - 20 mins, unless the battery was already at 95+%. Mine was at 38% when I put it on the Apple charger last night, and it took about 1:40 mins to fully charge.

I agree with this completely even though mine seems to charge faster than yours - when down to 50% it is a little less than an hour to get back to 100%

Each night my watch is at 100% when I go to bed. I wear it each night to track sleep and silent alarm and after 7 hours it is almost always at 98%. I workout for 1:15-1:30 with workout/other and it is at about 86-88% when done. I put my watch on the charger while I shower and get ready for work. About 20-25 minutes it is at 97-98%. By 9pm my watch is at 75% and charging back to 100% is about 40 minutes.

I do get a fairly faster charge on my 2.1amp Charger than my 1amp Charger.

When I posted about my charging, I used the stock watch charger. I will test again using the other charger that I have.

I still use my Apple Watch Stainless 1st gen daily, but I've been considering upgrading to the Series 3 with LTE since my current watch has become fairly slow, and many applications crash when I try to use them. Also the battery life has decreased quite a bit and I can't get a full day of use out of it anymore.

That being said, it has lasted me for quite some time so I can't complain really. The Sapphire screen has held up so well with no scratches even when hit and scraped against a brick wall by accident.

Maybe I'll pick up a Series 3 >.>
