This is extremely frustrating and I'm hoping someone knows what it is and how to stop it. I lock my phone and put it in my pocket, I go back to it and now a white box is over the screen that acts like a magnifying glass and makes everything large. I don't know how to disable it or turn it off, so I have to turn off my phone every time to make it go away. Does anyone know how to get rid of it without turning of the phone. I tried to goggle it, but I came up with nothing. Thanks in advance.

A 3 finger double tap enables/disables it if zoom is turned on. You can turn it off in accessibility.

It’s the magnifier, I had the same thing.

All Zoom settings should be disabled in accessibility settings and it might not hurt to disable the accessibility shortcut there as well.

It’s called “follow focus” in your accessibility settings. Turn it off. It made me crazy too.

Is that “Zoom” magnifying glass enabled by default for other people as well? I’ve never even gone into accessibility settings to mess with any of those settings and the phone was set up as a new iPhone.

By enabled I mean turned on in settings like below:

This is different. You can tap the bottom of the box and click 'zoom out' to get rid of the box.

The iPhone X's issue is this:

I remember reading this thread when it first was started, and then the other day I was holding my phone awkwardly trying to multitask and must have done the 3 finger tap. Thanks to this thread I immediately knew what the box was and disabled the Zoom feature. I guess it's enabled by default because I know I never did.
