Boxee Adds Hulu, CBS and Comedy Central Support to Apple TV

this doesn't work. I created the patchstick and followed the instructions to load in on my apple tv but the install process gave some error and didn't finish. Restarting apple tv just leaves me with the default menu. oh well

Yes, but i meant more in terms of Boxee... i hope they can integrate something like that... and make it invisible...

I only asked if it was streamable in HD, so I should have asked if it was available in downloadable (or any other form) in HD, either. Anyone?

Not from Hulu or CBS.com. There are always other means like P2P and Boxee has RSS support and rTorrent built in... so put 2 and 2 together there.

So ... you install Hotspot Shield on your Mac or PC .... ? And it then lets you use Boxee on AppleTV to watch CBS or Hulu ?

How does that work ... It changes the Mac or PC's IP address or the router ?
Hows does it affect AppleTVs IP ?

Do you have to let your Mac online all the time so AppleTV can use Hotspot Sheild ?

This is looking very awesome. Apple should hire these guys to make it native. I hate the fact that it isn't fully supported. I guess people wouldn't buy from iTunes if they did this though.

How's it work, overall, though? I installed couch surfer and Flash on my ATV and Hulu stutters pretty bad. Does Boxee play it back pretty smoothly? I can deal with the low res, but not the stuttering...
 
works pretty well, but there's a consistent problem with exiting boxee. have to restart appleTV.

but, hulu has a huge selection and it's nice to be able to access old shows on the TV rather than the computer. even shows like "chuck" have the latest episodes the day after...quality sucks, but watchable.
 
I keep playing with it on and off, but while I like the features there are certainly some "alpha" like instability issues

I use Hulu.com all the time. This makes me want to get an Apple TV even more 😀
 
I installed this last night on my Mini. Wow, it's awesome.

I was about to pony up $30 for PlayOn (for my Vista Bootcamp partition and PS3) but now I've just hooked my Mini to my 42" LCD and boxee is working great!!
 
Whoa! AppleTV just went from the cute girl in class to the babe across the street! I think it's time to buy one of these.

Hulu doesn't have all tv shows or entire seasons because of royalties. The newest shows are only available for 2 weeks approximately. So if you want to catch up on an entire season, watch it in HD, or have it to view on your computer and/or iPod, then the iTunes store is there for you. I think this is the approach Apple should take. Allow free streaming from hulu and then offer downloads of the episodes and seasons in HD for those who want it. It's like Pandora. You can listen to the music for free, but if you want to take it with you, then you can purchase it from iTunes.
 
Hulu compatibility may be the item that finally gets me to buy one of these. I have been considering one for a bit now, but don't have enough media to make it worthwile.

Whats the work around for us that live outside the USA to get HULU playing on AppleTV (not my iMac). ????

Could someone help me out
