How is this different than the iPhone? It's also made of glass and we all love it.
I worded it funny, I was saying is it made of Glass, if not, it looks like it would get scratched like crazy.
So that being said, what is the front made of?

1 million is pretty ****** when you compare it to how many units the iPhone sold as well as compared to other smartphones. So, Android fanboy, get walking. Yea, sure, the OS is green but as long as the devices are not fun to use it doesn't matter. Same thing goes for BlackBerrys.
I would have preferred if the Pre's keyboard was landscape; thus giving keys more space. But then that would make it kind of bulky and fragile like the g1. I bet the second version of Pre will just use a landscape virtual keyboard.
Well, the G1 has sold 1.3 million and hasn't been out a year yet. The original iPhone (what we should be comparing it to, first gen to first gen) sold between 3-4 million in its lifetime. Considering the G1 was sold on the smallest, least developed network in the country, it's sales really don't look that bad.
The original iPhone sales were never "great" compared to the sales of the 3G. As everyone loves to point out when talking about the iPhone's lack of basic features, the iPhone is in it's infancy. Well, Android is even greener. Give it time, just like we gave the original iPhone time and patience.

Doesn't it make it MORE impressive that a phone tied to a single carrier is in the top 5? Clearly a phone (or phones) available on multiple carriers SHOULD sell more, just as the blackberries did.
The Pre feels really good in your hand in terms of size and shape, but theres a real plasticky aura about it. Additionally, things arent looking good for that QWERTY either. And hey, you know we take them keyboards seriously! When you try and type on the top row of keys, your finger hits the bottom part of the front piece and on top of that, you often hit multiple keys at the same time while typing. Its actually really frustrating and doesnt bode well for such a fantastic social communication/personal/business tool.

The more I look at this phone, the more I'm unimpressed by it.
And what happened to the glossy look? It looks more matte looking more than anything.
If we like it or not Apple works on their own time schedule. Clearly they know what people want and what shoudl be there. Unlike others that try to cram it in Apple chose to ensure that the device was the best that it could be, when it is stable they release more. They are following a well defined road map. iPhone users have been part of the big beta test. That being said we know that most, if not all the people that designed the Pre are from Apple, and they appear to be following the old model of jam it all in.
Competation is the best thing for all of us, but if you want to compete with Apple you better come with you A game. There is no way that Palm is the compnay to do that, they do not have the culture nor do they have the financial resources to go the distence.
