Bragi Compares The Dash and The Headphone to Apple's AirPods

The case that comes with the "Headphone" actually doesn't have a battery (and they are not compatible with the Dash case either according to Bragi's web page). Bragi should have included the charging case for the Airpods in their table.

My bad, thanks for the correction. You're right they should have.

That's going to be super fun in crowded and noisy subway with in-and-out data connections. "Siri raise volume" "Siri raise volume" "hey can everyone shut up for a second so I can raise my volume?"

When the iPhone 7 gets released and people start trying to use these AirPods and start getting disgruntled by the new difficulties they're going to start having... that's when they're going to complain. And you're going to start reading MacRumors articles critiquing these AirPods.

And then they're going to start posting articles showcasing every accessory in the book, THAT ALLOWS THE IPHONE 7 TO DO WHAT THE IPHONE 6 ALREADY CAN... use regular earphones.

This is comical!!!

And then I'm going to come back and say 'I told you so'

All I have to do now, is wait.

Do these fit exactly the same way as the as the ones that come with the iPhone 6s Plus? These hurt my my ear because I have to push them in a bit get them to stay. Is there a rubber sleave available that would make them stay better?

I hope there we'll be able to try before we buy with these! I find that it's the cable catching on clothing etc.. that pulls the EarPods out of my ears so no cable means they might stay in much better!?!?

Really? Anyone who buys a 7 can keep using the included headphones and they can keep complaining that the cords catch on their clothes and pull the buds out of their ears, just like they do today.

Or they can buy the Airpods and eliminate the cords and their inherent issues. And as far as BT issues it's not the Airpods are the first BT buds on the market and there will be the same complaints with these that all have, like fit, battery life, sound quality.

I think that most people will be happy with the new Lightning connected headphones and those that want wireless will be happy with the Airpods and only on forums like this and click bait articles will there be some "huge" problem with either.

If Samsung and their flaming Note gets so little coverage, I would hope that some supposed convenience or sound quality issues don't overload the internet, but it is your right to sit around waiting for complaints to prove out your brilliance. I'm guessing you'll get a call from Apple wanting you to start working there so you can lead them down a better path. Lucky you!

They should have included some other useless comparisons to the chart since they were grasping at straws for most. Like:

Has bragi logo
Has package that has bragi logo

Pretty useless comparison chart.

Nothing useless on the chart and you sound mad. Based on features those bragin headphones seem more full featured. All 3 way overpriced for normal consumers though.

When it comes to ANY kind and ANY brand of headphones, I consider THE most important thing QUALITY OF SOUND. With Bluetooth, I'd like to know about LATENCY while watching videos, etc.

All these Bluetooth players seem to focus all of the pitches & spin on just about everything but quality of sound. How pretty am I, how functional, how portable, UI, etc. But the main thing I personally want out of any of them is great quality sound, audio tracks synced to video, great battery life, fast recharge and some way to find one when it pops out and falls into some void beyond where my eyes can see.

It allows you to clearly hear your surroundings without taking the earbud out. A normal earbud that's sitting in your ear and not playing music will muffle external sounds around you. Audio transparency fixes that.

So it fixes a problem they have created by using closed headphones, and not open like the AirPods?

Here's the battery case with 24 hours, dual beamforming microphones with noise cancelation, totally wireless earbuds charge, and LOOK AT THEIR SIZE!

Yes, it's useless:

1st, 1M "waterproof" is not "waterproof" is "water resitant"

2nd, Audio Transparency is not needed with open headphones

3rd, Fitness tracking is dumb without a HRM, that's just "jump tracking", or "pedometer tracking that also counts if you're driving

4th, Bargi OS updates, how can they say that Apple doesn't have software updates planned for the AirPods?

1 really that term bothers you? Consumers can understand you aren't gonna go swimming with them

2 and 3 are good additional features airpods lack
Just because you say they aren't necessary
doesn't mean they are. How can you even say that you haven't tried them. Wouldn't be wise to wear headphones while driving so that issue is dumb.

4 they can say because Apple has said zilch about software updates. Until Apple says otherwise it's good marketing point

It's been touched on, but in theory, the audio transparency is pretty neat. It's NOT just poor noise isolation. The user has the ability to control how much external noise is passed through, I assume using the regular microphone or some additional microphone(s). It can provide full noise isolation with no transparency, or conversely, allow full transparency and allow all outside noise in, and I think even provide amplification, effectively acting like a minor hearing aid. Again, all in theory, I've never tried one in reality.

I have The Dash and they are great.

Having not tried the AirPods there are some areas where I would like to see how they stack up.

Bragi has great fit, internal storage, can swim with them, fitness tracking, touch controls and a great design.

The stick ends of the AirPods make them look a bit fugly.

But the Dash have been improving but still have some connectivity issues. You can't walk away from your phone like you can with most BT. Keep it in your pocket or on your desk.

Also, looks likes Apple's will auto connect when you put one or both in your ear. Bragi has an issue here. If I put them both in my ear they auto connect. But if I want to listen at my desk with only one (yes transparency is great but people wait for you to remove it whereas with just one in they will come talk to you so usually wear just the right at work), it is a pain to get it to connect. Usually I have to go into my phone, go into settings and hit connect and double tap the earbud.

It is actually easier to put them both in, start playing music and then remove one. It also isn't as easy to answer a call if you have to put just one in.

However you can answer or reject calls by nodding or shaking your head. And that is really cool.

It's waterproof enough to go swimming with them.
2nd, Audio Transparency is not needed with open headphones
And blocking out noise is not possible with open headphones.

The "Dash" actually has sensors for heart rate monitoring.

The question is if it's technically possible to update the firmware.

To be fair, it should mention the AirPods come with a battery case, have easy pairing and automatic on/off, three features the Headphone don't have.

It's also misleading that the Dash shows "rechargeable on the go for 5 times" and it says nothing next to the AirPods, like it doesn't include a battery case.

Lastly, "Bragi OS update" as a point? That's pretty cringeworthy, reminds me of this:

Chances are the AirPods' firmware can be updated too, even Apple keyboards get firmware updates.
[doublepost=1473449602][/doublepost]You've been saving that article for years... just waiting for the perfect time to use it... was it worth it? ;o).

I guess the SICKEST, part about these headphones, besides being able to pair with like 5-6 devices you have is:

Let's say you put both in your ears, right? You go about 4 hours from the morning, then at lunch, you take ONE(1) out and put it in the charging case. Go about your biz (or Lunch) for about 20-25 minutes.

Take the newly charged one out of the case, get the freshly charged one working, then take the somewhat depleted ONE(1) out and put that in the charging case, for 20-25 minutes.

Drive back to work, take the 2nd charged one out of the case, and now you have TWO(2) recharged Pods, with absolutely (or somewhat) NO INTERRUPTIONS!

Plus your ears get 20-25 minutes each to relax and take a break from having them in your ears all day. This IS PERFECTION...

In addition on your drive home you could repeat this once again, (or just use bluetooth in your car), and then put them back in for the night... SICK...

You can actually go swimming with them (which wouldn't make sense with other earphones, but the Dash can play music from the internal memory without being connected to a phone).

Can't imagine they stay in well. It's also a super niche feature that'll likely be used by less than 10% of users.

$300.00 for the Bragi's is way more than I want to spend. I will most likely try the Airpods. They might be a hit wth some customers.
